Going through a bit of a bad patch. Too many players are off form and Mourinho does not seem to have faith in the squad players. Terry made a big difference in the organisation of the defence today, though Cahill was brilliant once again.
Yeah we were really fortunate yesterday, but in the last few years we'd have drawn. We've at least got the never say die attitude back which is what title contenders need. If we win the league it'll be because of our defence, our attack has been so inconsistent and over-reliant on Hazard. Jose might be doing some major surgery in the summer because he clearly isn't happy with the options he has, which has been the result of our constant chopping and changing over the years.

We were in good form right up to WBA and have looked pretty limp since. Hopefully it doesn't last long, but City aren't at their best either and Arsenal have a horrendous fixture list to contend with.
Yeh the winning mentality was something you really had been missing. I would like to see the number of points you had dropped in the last 10 minutes of games.

The thing with Chelsea is they have so much money available by selling players Mourinho does not want. I expect Luiz, Courtois, Lukaku, Cole, Ba, Mikel might all leave and that could bring in around 80 million. Throw in a couple of the loan players moving and you will have a hefty transfer kit.

It's a pity they're not dropping many points in their bad patch.

In 3/4 weeks time things are only going to get easier for them. Add to that their bad patch isn't going to last forever and it transpires Terrys goalfor them yesterday will probably have a huge say in things, we could really have done without that. Sorry, I just can't see them dropping many points between now and the end. The manner in which they win games is a different matter but so long as they keep doing enough to grind out 1-0 wins they have a better chance than everyone else, imo, as I can see the rest of us all dropping points in 3 or 4 games at least yet.

I must admit you're my only worry, like you say you was very fortunate yesterday but still got a result.

Injury time winner against Everton, Injury time winner against us, awarded a non penalty late on against WBA, there's 5 points in just three games.

You've certainly ground some results out with most of them being at home, that's why it's going to be close, very close.

i just don't see how they can stay the distance, at some point their lack of goals will tell

they've only scored 1 (or less) in 6 of the last 7 games

You only need one goal if you keep the other team from scoring. They are playing gash football but just keep getting wins. It's so annoying.

Not convinced Lukaku and Courtois will make it here then? Courtois should in all honesty, I think he's already at least as good as Cech and I hold Cech in very high esteem. The problem is he's such a legend here that it wouldn't feel right replacing him relatively early. I think Courtois will be in the squad next season to compete at least. We'd be silly to sell him.

Lukaku I'm not so sure, but I hope he gets a shot. I have high hopes for him. Hopefully he finishes the season strongly after his injury and has a good world cup.

No I think Courtois could make it, but as you said Cech is a legend and very popular with the players, fans and backroom staff. I think say Cech woke up and decided to become a fireman, Courtois would come in and do a great job. He made an unbelievable save to keep Atletico in the game against Milan just midweek. It's as you said there is no real reason to replace Cech, who may be great for another 5-6 years. With FFP probably best to cash in on the 20+ million.

Again like with Courtois I share your opinion about Lukaku. I can see Mourinho leaving it up to him, but if you buy a top striker as expected say Cavani of Falcao then I can see him leaving. Like with De Bruyne you would probably make a decent profit on him though.

They may struggle this weekend. Difficult trip to Turkey,Mancini's Galatasaray the opposition and always a hostile atmosphere. You saw what coming to us did to Barcelona, and you saw what playing Barcelona did to us. Away at Fulham you would say is a chelsea 3 pointer 9 times out of 10, but Fulham with a new manager may be playing Chelsea at just the right time.

I can see Chelsea beating both Fulham and Spurs in their next 2 games, this will put them a mile clear of City (9 points) with us having 3 matches in hand. Mourinho can bullshit all he likes about those games in hand being an advantage to City, but that's only true if Chelsea drop points. If they win both matches then those games in hand become must win games for City and the pressure is far greater, especially the one at Old Trafford where you just know United will somehow find their only good performance in the last 6 months!

Chelsea's football hasn't been too entertaining, but that's what you expect from Mourinho, he's all about the result and not how he gets there. At this stage, with Chelsea well established as one of Europe's top sides, you'd have hoped they'd be willing to try and win whilst also playing attractive football, but it seems they're still happy to continue to grind results instead. Doesn't make them any less of a threat, or any less successful, it just means, from a neutral's perspective, they're fairly dull to watch.
