You only need one goal if you keep the other team from scoring. They are playing gash football but just keep getting wins. It's so annoying.

They may struggle this weekend. Difficult trip to Turkey,Mancini's Galatasaray the opposition and always a hostile atmosphere. You saw what coming to us did to Barcelona, and you saw what playing Barcelona did to us. Away at Fulham you would say is a chelsea 3 pointer 9 times out of 10, but Fulham with a new manager may be playing Chelsea at just the right time.

I can see Chelsea beating both Fulham and Spurs in their next 2 games, this will put them a mile clear of City (9 points) with us having 3 matches in hand. Mourinho can bullshit all he likes about those games in hand being an advantage to City, but that's only true if Chelsea drop points. If they win both matches then those games in hand become must win games for City and the pressure is far greater, especially the one at Old Trafford where you just know United will somehow find their only good performance in the last 6 months!

Chelsea's football hasn't been too entertaining, but that's what you expect from Mourinho, he's all about the result and not how he gets there. At this stage, with Chelsea well established as one of Europe's top sides, you'd have hoped they'd be willing to try and win whilst also playing attractive football, but it seems they're still happy to continue to grind results instead. Doesn't make them any less of a threat, or any less successful, it just means, from a neutral's perspective, they're fairly dull to watch.

Still shouldn't be good enough.

Schurrle was brilliant in the second half today. Hopefully he gets a run now, he's always impressed me when he got a chance. I won't embed these or it'll take forever to load.

Beat Spurs and we'll put a load of pressure onto you to win those games in hand. Shame Liverpool keeps winning though, but it's great to have some breathing room at the top.

Really needs to work on that celebration, looked like he was trying to think of something to do the entire time.

Ha ha. It looks like he gives up half way though.
It's not the same as when I did it in training.

That's one thing Shurrle usually gives you. Adjusting to the league, but if he is picking up form could be vital in the run in. If today is anything to go by looks like they are picking up form at just the right time.

He's very much in the Ronaldo mould (though obviously not the same class) as a sort of inside forward. Quick, strong, and very direct. Almost a striker out wide. Hazard is more like Ribery with the trickery and guile. Though Schurrle was refreshingly clinical today, Hazard turned it around. He assisted the first two and generally took Fulham apart. The main difference was he had someone making runs for him to find.

I've been pretty bullish on our title chances all season but it's really opened up for Chelsea to go win it now. We will have to win a minimum of 10 out of our last 12 games imo and whilst we can beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and United away from home we are under immense pressure to do so now. It has to be strongest 11 week in week out with each game being treated as a cup final. Chelsea gave us a chance when they drew with West Ham and West Brom but we messed up by losing to them and drawing with Norwich. Now their fixture list looks pretty comfortable and they're going to have to drop some points for us to win it.

Hazard is a different class and despite Schurrle getting the hat trick it was Hazard that won them the game. They have been quite lucky with injuries compared to us but they have been relentless since Christmas and the ball is definitely in their court.

Hugh Dennis.

He used to be in a duo with a guy called Steve Punt.

I was driving the van along Shaftesbury Avenue once, really busy as usual, traffic just crawling along. I had stopped right adjacent to one of the islands in the centre of the road for pedestrians to croos the road. I looked to my right and he was stood there, two feet away from me. We were face to face, and I said "hello mate, you're that Steve Punt fella, aren't you?".

I knew immediately that I'd got his name wrong.

He looked blankly at me, and I simply wound my window up, whilst he stood there for a full minute, just looking at me. When I could drive off I clocked him in my mirror just looking at my van and shaking his head.
