Chelsea Agreed a fee of £32m with Athletico for Costa According to SSN

I would be beyond livid with the timing if I was an athletico fan! Worst timing ever for them in the lead up to there huge match against barca!
Don't think it matters for them really. They no what sort of club they are and must have known they would have to sell him. I expect most of the squad will be broken up, but it's a way of him having the perfect ending.

Absolutely disgusting player, don't want him anywhere near our league. Perfect Mourinho player though, he'll undoubtedly give him plenty of opportunities to claim the referees and media our out to get them.

It is going to be fun seeing Diego Costa's antics in the Premier League.

I will be interested to see how he does next, season with proper striker.
He was rehired to play exciting attacking football, he couldn't this season as he has no strikers so reverted to what he knows.
That said he should have kept Lukaku so his own fault to an extent.
Either way i feel Chelsea will be better next season than this.

I get the feeling his time in Madrid changed him though and i know he brings a lot on himself so i am not feeling sorry for him as such, just thought it was worth noting.

I look forward to seeing us battle next season.

Falcao will change his way of thinking and would improve any squad.

Just imagine if we lost Aguero to injury for a big chunk of the season, we'd struggle to win anything, oh hang on a minute.......
Yeh then imagine if you lost Dzeko and Negredo too. Both of those are top class strikers, maybe just below world class but much better than anything Chelsea had. Apart from Stoke they had the worst strikers in the top 10. Mourinho deserves a big part of the blame for that, because he let Lukakua go though.

The problem with Chelsea was not just the striker. It was the defence. Don't be surprised to see Terry dropped next season. They were too exposed at the back every time they gave teams space to attack them. Losing to Villa, Palace and Sunderland is proof enough of this, but it was much worse at the start of the season. If there defence could cope with being exposed then they should have drawn those games.

I agree with a lot of what you say mate, but are you seriously trying to say that a strike force that they had at the start of the season of Torres, Eto'o, Ba and Lukaku is worse than Giroud, Bendtner & Sanogo?
For me, Arsenal had the weakest striker options all the way down to Stoke.

I think they will get another striker as well because they need more than Costa, for me I reckon it will be Mandzukic as Lewandowski is now at Bayern.

You forget they have already signed Kurt Zouma in January as well.

Chelsea do seem to be abiding by FFP rules though so I think we will see players sales to fund player incomings.

Not sure Costa is really a shirt seller, as he has no national fanbase at all. Brazilians can't stand him now that he's betrayed them and the Spanish aren't exactly enamoured by him. That only leaves Chelsea fans, of which there aren't really that many and they would be buying Chelsea shirts anyway, so they aren't really gaining anything.
