Chelsea Thread 2014/15

I love that they are making so many excuses, it's making the players make terrible decisions and take no responisibility for it. That Matic red card, I've genuinely never seen the guy look even remotely cross before, but Mourinho clearly has them all right on edge. Now he's being absolved of all responsibility for it by Mourinho and the Chelsea fans, so it's only a matter of time before one of their other players do something similar.

Coloccini's tackle on Aguero was far worse than what happened to Matic, but does he jump up and deck him? Of course not, but our players aren't being riled up into a frenzy by the manager. Long may it continue

Full steam ahead, every single pundit, even Gary Neville claiming that the 'tackle' was a red card offence, and that Matic is somehow entitled to react and shouldn't have been given a red.

I can see it being rescinded, no doubt Sky will wheel out Cascarino and co to fight Matic's corner.

All starting to gat a bit familiar isn't it. If the desperation is this bad now how will it be if City and Chelsea are level with a few games to go, should be entertaining.

His rant yesterday was not only non productive but had very little merit. 2 penalty decisions, 1 probably right 1 probably wrong, well fuck me Jose check every other game this weekend, hardly a conspiracy.

A possible yellow card not given, hardly a game changer, and Matic get sent off but there seems to be a suggestion he shouldn't have been because Barnes fouled him. Isn't the punishment given to Barnes irrelevant in the case of retaliation so not sure what the point is.

I know I'm probably the only one but that was a pass from Barnes that Matic then intercepted; mere follow through from a forward pass.

Not a horror tackle, not even a tackle.

You are not the only one. I see it the same way. His foot does not hit the ground after the pass. To me, it is s clear follow-through that happened to catch Matic in a bad spot. Clearly no intent and I think s red card would have been very harsh.
Barnes's reaction suggests he meant it. If it was an accident he'd have stopped and apologised rather than walking away with his head down.

Said it for a while now. Maureen will get the boot this summer imo again regardless of the outcome in the league.

It really is all about him!

Chelsea spent a season diving and pressurising referees. It was only a matter of time before one over reacted and went the other way.

I was too young to remember the Leeds Utd of Don Revie, but this is the most cynical set of cheats that I have ever seen, and it's time the media really went to task on them.

And what's more Burnley deserved their point. Chelsea created barely any chances of note. I hope Spurs beat them at the weekend and they go into meltdown. Could happen because PSG could beat them too

Maureen got the smoke and mirrors out again, is anybody talking about Chelsea dropping points and failing to put burnley away??
Nope thought not.
He always does it, all they're talking about is the incidents.
He's got his head buried deep in the sand again..

Used to have a lot of time for Ivanovic but after his pathetic acting and constant whingeing to the ref i realise he's a cnut too

It won't be rescinded. The ref didn't make any error in the punishment for Matic. If you "strike" an opponent, as Matic theoretically did, that is a red card offence. And there is no way that the FA will pull the rug from under Atkinson by over-ruling him on something he didn't actually get wrong.
