Match report of the week taken from the Guardian (spot the dig);

Paul Doyle, take a bow son!
was it this: "Shackell’s hands did touch Costa but it was hardly the sort of shove that would, for example, prevent a commuter from boarding a train"
Or "Collapsed in the box"
Great article
The "boarding a train" remark. I don't think he 'll be getting any nice, all expenses paid trips covering Chelsea in the CL after that; Maureen will have him banned from the club.
A little anecdote in case we get too complacent.
I’ve probably done around 1200 City games since my first match, ironically against Chelsea at the end of the 70-71 season.
City have always been one of the more socially aware clubs, not just towards black players,, but also with regard to Jewish supporters and sexual orientation. I even remember reading once that City had the highest percentage of female supporters.
The only area where we let ourselves down was the Munich chanting (and I was as guilty as anybody when I was young and didn't know any better)
However during the 2006-08 period I spent some time in Germany and attended a few Hamburg games. I became a member and even travelled with their supporters to a desperate 2-1 defeat at Hanover when Tarnat and Van Buyten were on opposing sides.
I still had a City season ticket, but Hamburg became my continental adventure.
Everything changed after the takeover, but of all the european teams, who should we draw in the Europa League Quarter final?
It seems strange in retrospect, but that game in Hamburg was arguably our most prestigious game in almost thirty years. It also provided the perfect opportunity for me to pay for my own trip by using my SV Hamburg membership to order extra tickets for City fans who had travelled without any guarantee of seeing the match.
Eventually, I took one for the team and sold my ticket for the City end. I still had one ticket left and used it, totally unaware that it was on the segregation barrier.
When Hamburg equalized a young City fan, probably half my age proceeded to hurl abuse in my direction:
“Why aren’t you smiling you F*****Nazi C****?”
This continued for about ten minutes until I snapped and shouted “Do I sound like a Hamburg fan?”
I could sense his embarrassment and for an uncomfortably long period, I refused to respond to his continual shouts of “BLUE”
Eventually, I buckled and turned to face him.
“Sorry mate”
What disturbed me (and still does) is that he was only apologising because he thought I was German
My discomfort was nothing when compared to the poor bloke in Paris, but let’s not kid ourselves that we can’t improve
