Chelsea Thread 2014/15

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

I think they can go undefeated and still finish second. Teams will work them out as the season progresses and I don't think they have the firepower to break down 10 man defences every week like City have to do. Losing Costa will hurt them massively and he's hardly got an unblemished injury record. I see a fair few 0-0's for them in the second part of the season.

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

Not a chance, they'll slip up somewhere. Not sure when but it will happen.

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

I thought they were extremely lucky against Arsenal yesterday. At 0-0 Cahill should have been sent off. Sorry, but that was just a straight red card and no arguments.

The referee was a bit crap for both teams, in that Koscielny should have walked for the trip on Hazard, Arsenal should have had a penalty and Welbeck should have gone for the two footed tackle at the end. But he got the Cahill decision completely wrong, and if he had done what he should have done by sending Cahill off, Chelsea playing with 10 men for 70 minutes would have been a very different game. As it was Arsenal were marginally the better team, and that was away at Chelsea. Against 10 men Chelsea might well have clung on for a 0-0, but there's also a very good chance Arsenal would have scored somewhere along the line.

Not that I have much sympathy for the Tarquins - not many of them complained when Clattenberg didn't give the penalty against Wilshere when we were playing them - but Chelsea undoubtedly go the breaks in their favour, as they did against us, and sooner or later their luck will run out.

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

Costa WILL get injured at some point and their goals will dry up. If one of Fabregas or Matic gets injured as well they'll struggle in the middle.

In my opinion I don't think we'll ever see another team go a full season unbeaten, the standards are just so high now and with the distraction of the champions league (The trophy that means most to Maureen and Abramovich) I think they'll get stuck against someone.

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

We get this fear every year now with our rivals, although usually later in the season.

2012 there was this conviction on the forum "United won't drop any more points - look at their fixtures". We all know what happened next. Last season exactly the same with Liverpool.

The only team who ever went unbeaten were head and shoulders above everyone else. Chelsea aren't.

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

They'll be running on fumes by Christmas ..it all has to end somewhere just like liverpool

Re: Chelsea - Season Unbeaten?

I'm not afraid to say it, we'll beat them at Stamford Bridge with Fernando in the side to cut out the counter.

They played us at the right time with a full strength team and we still nearly nicked it with 10 men at the end.

I'm more than confident with Fernando in the side and Yaya pushed on we'll beat them, Mourinho wont play football against us because he knows he'll get battered, with the insurance of Fernando we can take the game to them.

If Aguero stays fit for more games than Costa then we'll win the league

With or without Costa I still think they will nick goals, I think their struggles will come from playing the same defense every game, injuries to Terry, Cahill or Matic will leave them short.
