Chelsea Thread (2015-16)

That's ridiculous!
On what grounds could they appeal?

They'll be arguing it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity. The ball was going away from goal after Gomis' touch, and there were defenders getting back. I think they should lose the appeal, but it's Chelsea, they somehow managed to get Fabregas' red card reduced from 3 matches to 1 match (a match that didn't matter as it was the last match of last season, after they'd already won the league) so anything is possible.

When will the appeal be heard? This week? If it fails will he get an additional match as it is clearly a red card any day of the week!

As Jamie Carragher pointed out last night though, to go round the keeper the ball has to be going in a direction away from goal, it's almost impossible to take it round him in any other way, the fact he still was able to keep up with it is why it was a goal scoring opportunity, red card all day and he should get an extra ban for the appeal.

Sourinho is taking the piss as usual.

The appeal will be held this week, as it needs to happen before Chelsea's next game. If the appeal fails they could add an additional game, if they deem the appeal to be frivolous, however that very rarely happens so I wouldn't be expecting it to happen in this instance.

Appeal, should fail, should get the extra match. But after Matic last season who knows?

After spend 27M pounds in january on cuadrado who mourinho never give him a chance now they will spend 22M pounds on a young LB who most likely will be back-up to azpilicuetta....and it's us the ones who ruin football FFS.....

Don't know about that, he could be looking to move Azpilicueta to right back and Ivanovic to centre half.

I thought that they would put Azpilecuta at right back.
