Chelsea will definitely be going to CAS. Enough time though till the summer window , that's the question.

This could be us soon if these alleged charges hold up. I think we have a strong enough squad to weather it though

Well as we'll get a ban in a month or so for a much lesser offence I think City should do their important business now as putting a player into limbo will simply not happen. CAS would rule it out.

Chelsea transfer ban to remain in place during appeal. Sorry Chelsea but you don't play in Spain.

Yeah, I'm not sure how precedent works in these sorts of cases, but I would imagine Chelsea will take this to CAS who will rule against FIFA's decision to deny transfer activity while the appeal process is ongoing.

It is worth keeping in mind that this is the 2nd time Chelsea have run afoul of this very rule (the case went to CAS in 2009, who ruled in Chelsea's favour and lifted the ban), so FIFA may have grounds to treat Chelsea differently, as we appear to be repeat offenders.

I actually have no issue with Chelsea as like us they have had the sheer audacity to challenge the chosen three . The powers that be simply do not want Manchester City and Chelsea dining at the top table and feel that we both should know our places which in their view is mid to lower half of the top division with occasional spells in the second tier....after all I am sure many on here have attended games between our clubs in the second tier.

At the end of the day both clubs traditionally have spent very little time at the top end before rich benefactors came and elevated these clubs in every way to better and superior clubs across the continent. It is my fervent hope that both clubs with for many years battle it out for the important prizes and continue to leave the favoured ones standing.

Chelsea will still be preparing to conduct business as usual this summer, but we’re fully at the mercy of FIFA’s timing. If the FIFA appeals process wraps up quickly (i.e. before the summer), Chelsea can launch the CAS appeal and probably get the ban suspended.

It's essentially a waiting game now. If FIFA take the full 6+ months, Chelsea won’t be able to sign new players this summer at least.
