Lots of media outlets reporting Abramovich is willing to sell the club

2 billion and then find the money to redevelop Stanford bridge. The escalating costs at Spurs’ new ground must have Roman thinking is it all worth it. Then find money to invest in the squad, I’m sure there will be plenty of takers.

That will encourage Utd fans to believe that the Sheikh may get bored.
Only wanting £2bn though is a bit of a shock.

He is owed over billion to so 2 billion is cheap if that include the billion loan from him
Won't be easy for Roman to sell Chelsea.
Say 2 bil for the purchase, 1 bil for the Russian's loan, 1.5/2 bil for the stadium build (after WHL who knows what the final sum might be) plus new players...?

Anyone with a quarter of that cash would be far better off buying a club like Newcastle, Leeds or even Aston Villa.

Not so long ago, Chelsea was viewed as the 3rd or 4th biggest club in London (depending on your assessment of West Ham). Since RA they have become a major force in world football but how sustainable is it without an owner who is prepared to keep pumping millions of his own equity into the business?

When Chelsea bought Schevchenko 15 years ago for a record transfer fee, the 35 mil only represented a tiny fraction of the Russian's overall wealth. Roman cannot take these financial hits today. His wealth is less than half what it was and that kind of player today will cost 200m.

I bet the new stadium development will not go ahead if RA is still there.

Does the 2 billion asking price include the dept which Chelsea have to Roman, or must the new owner also stamp that money up? Worrying times for Chelsea fans.

I don't thibk 2b is particularly cheap for Chelsea and I'd think that would include his debt

Kroenke's purchase of arsenal values them at 1.8b and that is without the need to build a new stadium
