I said it in the PL thread but they have this unique ability to look incredible against the weaker teams but mediocre against the better teams. I wonder if there's a tactical reason for that level of difference.

Superb.

Now I can sit back and enjoy watching the rest of the league go to battle.

Yeah if it’s your team stuffing the likes of Norwich it’s a great watch personally didn’t watch it because new it be 5+ goals win! Yeah you can watch us later in a very tricky game then the history club game tomorrow!

We were the opposite of mediocre against the big teams last season after Tuchel took over. Beat Liverpool, City x3, Atletico Madrid x2, Real Madrid, Spurs. It's been more of a mixed bag this season, but quite frankly I have confidence in Tuchel against any team in the world.

Yeah it was the same when Liverpool stuffed Watford last week and when you lot battered Norwich.

Great win for you lot today. I thought there might have been a chance of a slip up but you shut that down expertly, like a machine.

:) You were doing nicely there until you threw Spurs in.

That's the weird thing. Last season you were really consistent (minus the late season mini blip), ultra solid, smart football, and always grinding out a result in comfortable fashion. Against the good and bad in equal measure.

This season you look less assured against the better sides but far scarier against the weaker teams.

It's really just the City game and the Juve game where we could have done better. We had a good 45 mins against Liverpool then it was a backs to wall job with 10 men, and we comfortably beat Arsenal and Spurs.

But you're right. It's definitely not sure assured in the big games as we were last season.

Other than City, have they played any of the so called bigger teams yet?

Yep.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs all away. And of course City. So far we haven't dropped a single point to teams not named Liverpool and City.

Playing with teutonic reliability.

they have a system that prevents chances then just wears the opposition down and now they have a proper striker

imo they will win the title this season. they dont make mistakes vs lesser sides while us and Pool will drop quite a few more imo vs lower table clubs.

they are more flexible tactically than us, they can sit back and counter properly and also be more dominant, clinical.

we battered them at Stamford Bridge but we should have won 3-0 and only won with a deflected lucky shot. yet they have 5 points lead on us already.

totally can see them getting 25-26p from next 30 possible until end of calendar year. nd for some reason can see them being quicker more ruthless in January window on the market if they need to be than us.

Just watching motd, can't help thinking that if the chances Reece James scored with fell to a City player they would have taken 3 or 4 touches and then passed backwards or in the case of Sterling run straight into someone and lost possession.

The first one looked like the kind of goal I've seen Foden score before.
