Well that’s like saying Palmer or Lewis are bang average. Well they’re a young players with potential. Saying they’re average right now is pointless when clearly the idea is that Pep will help develop them and very soon, with Pep’s coaching, they’ll be a very good players.

Not really the same though is it. They are our players we didn't spend huge amounts on them. They are use to the English game and were already playing in our first team.

Well the principle is the same. Someone who is a young player with potential now, might not yet be better than an average PL player but the potential is there. Regardless of whether they were academy produced or signed for £30mill. Calling them average is pointless when clearly the idea they were signed for their potential more than what they bring to the table right now. But anyway. I think my point was clear.

personally didnt see a lot wrong with chelsea that a little bit of time and confidence would make, they have the makings of a very good squad when they get used to playing a certain style and get to know each others strengths and weaknesses , thought the first half they dominated, a lack of spirit saw them drop a level after the penalty miss,but spirit will come when they all get to know each other and the manager, thought raheem looked excellent yesterday.

i think what chelsea need to do is take a breathe for a window or two, let things settle down, let the players build relationships with each other, i can see them getting stronger over the season, and being a danger next season.

I actually totally agree. I’ve been wanting them to calm down with the signings since last January. Hopefully now that we have stacked the team with young talent and hired a coach who’s well known for developing young talent, I hope they calm down and relax and let the squad develop together.

The amount of money spent seems to cloud the views of many who ignore the fact they've pretty much got a brand new squad and manager that will require time to adapt. would have been a miracle had they clicked straight away.

From what I've seen of them so far, they're doing better than I had them down to be at this stage. Poch is a decent manager and their squad is good, they'll be a force in the future. I wouldn't rule out top 5 for them this season. Depends on 2 things, How quickly they gel and how shit the rest of the sides are. Those 2 things in combination could see them finish anywhere from 2nd-10th.

On potential, I'd stick them up there with arsenal as our most likely long term challengers, above united, dippers newcastle spurs and Brighton.

@Vialli98 do you think you have enough creativity in midfield? I didn't see much against West Ham when they were down to 10 yesterday for the last 20 mins or so. I think you created one clear chance.

Too lazy to check it (the perils of getting old!), but I just saw something on twitter, sorry, "x". Apparently, Chelsea have 5 wins in their last 31 matches. Is that true? @Vialli98?

I think it depends on how we line up. Enzo and Chukwuemeka were fine in the first half, but it died when Mudryk came on for Chuku. I think Sterling, Jackson, Chuku and Enzo is enough creativity between as well as Chilwell and James when he’s fit. Nkunku when he comes back will add to that. Mudryk can be creative in his own way too.

You’re spot in that we completely folded yesterday when Antonio knocked that goal in against the run of play. it was disappointing to see the lack of urgency and movement against 10 men.

Probably yes. I haven’t checked but it sounds like it’s true lol
