how these fuckers were allowed to score 5 vs City in two PL games where they scored total sum of 1 goal vs Liverpool in two PL games plus 120 minutes Carabao final played against Liverpool B. thats 1 goal in 300 minutes.
versus 5 goals in 180 minutes vs City.

and that one goal they scored were actually in a 4-1 loss vs dippers.

we should have ripped Pochettino apart instead of handing them two draws. :(

We actually scored 2 league goals against them. Opening game of the season, at the Bridge, Disasi scored, it finished 1-1 but we should have really beat them comfortably with the chances we had.

It's crazy though, because we created more chances against them (all games combined) than we have against City. That 4-4 game was freak game. There's no chance we could replicate that against you again if you gave us 50 attempts.

Take out the 4-1 loss, and the other two games vs Liverpool we played better than them and should have won both games comfortably.

Pretty sure Rodri played one of the previous games that season we also beat you in. He’s the best player in the world in my opinion, but we were just better than you that night and it’s ok to admit that.

Some people here won't admit it, putting Rodri will not magically us better on that final. I think even if we put Rodri the chance is still 50:50 it still can go either way and sadly that final is not our day.

He seemed to drop off towards the end of that season, think winning the league early that year may have led to members of the squad not being on it when the champions league final came round. We could still be playing now and still not have scored in that game, the defending for the winning goal was horrific.

Yeah that's what I think, it just wasn't your night. I feel confident in saying that we were just the better team on the night, Rodri or no Rodri.

Europe or out for potch.

I wonder if they'll go back to Brighton to try and poach their gaffer.

Beat Leeds tonight or out for me.

I'm already in the Poch Out camp if I'm being honest, I have just never vocalised it or called for his head yet, until now. If we get dumped out of the cup tonight, I need to see a club statement no more than 2 hours later.

I think you'll win tonight to prolong the agony.

Poor performance but nice win. Who doesn't love a last minute winner against fucking Leeds.

We have Leicester at home next, so a decent road back to Wembley.

For those that wish we had done everything necessary to keep Palmer at City, I think it is also important to remember that there is no guarantee—even if he was given the same initial opportunity to play a lot of minutes for us—that Palmer would have been as productive with us as he has been with Chelsea.

Teams plays against Chelsea completely differently to the way they play against us. More often than not their opposition see them as vulnerable or inferior, and so tend to take a much more open, aggressive approach in their matches with Chelsea. That almost never happens with us.

Once more, our setup and tactics are completely different, made more starkly different by the low block and quick counter tactics of our opposition, placing a greater emphasis on control and defensive work rate when not in possession (neither of which are necessarily among Palmer’s strengths). That’s not even getting in to the fact that he was never going to be the main man if he stayed with us—as he has partly become at Chelsea—which from what I have been told was an issue that contributed to him leaving. It also means he wasn’t going to have the same freedom (and leeway in his non-attacking responsibilities) in his play with us as he does at Chelsea.

Couple all of that with practically every team we face treating the match as their cup final, and it is simply a drastically different experience (with a completely different set of expectations) playing for us.

And it should also be pointed out that although he has had very good individual performances (and his stats are good), he has played for them when they have had poor results, as well, and Chelsea currently sit 11th, a few points about Fulham and Bournemouth. Their dysfunction is obviously not down to him, but it is also not entirely independent of him (as he has deficiencies that they haven’t been able to adequately cover at times.

There is nothing to say Palmer would have done as well if he had stayed with us.
