Cheltenham Town (A) | Post-Match Thread

I quite enjoyed it in a strange way. It would've been boring going 2-0 after 15 minutes. Full credit to Cheltenham who were absolutely superb. It was a classic cup tie.

I was looking forward to seeing the youth player but they looked lost to be honest. I don't understand playing Garcia at all and THB should've been there instead. Doyle didn't know what to do but put a shift in. I was very disappointed in the lack of guidance from the experiences players.

I would like us to buy that left back Freestone from them as he made Mahrez look an absolute clown. Mahrez put in a rancid first half performance. He should have been ripping them to shreds but he was a coward and offered nothing. He didn't even try to win the ball back or put any pressure on Freestone. I've seen enough of Mahrez to know he's not good enough. I didn't think Mendy was as bad as others thought though he could've scored and put in some decent crosses.

Overall, job done and a slight slip on the banana skin might do us some good. Some of the experienced players need to watch that game and learn from it.

Of course Foden was MOTM by a country mile but top marks to Cancelo and Gundogan.
 
Just goes to show that our shadow team are not as good as we would have hoped.
Well played Cheltenham but class told at the end.
My bar opened sooner than usual this weekend and the nerves are already relaxing.
 
does anyone else think Jesus's head is shaped like a sheriff's badge, he's got to be the worst header of the ball of any striker we've had

I dont think the whole team was complacent but i think the normal suspects were at it....Mendy, Mahrez being two of them. Mahrez has a sublime touch but is absolutely not up for a fight and is bullied out of games. Mendy just is bang average as you say

Agree with Foden - he drove the team forward time and time again.

Thought Doyle did well initially but faded a little second half.

Jesus needs a kick up the arse as well for the miss before he eventually scored.....we need a striker we can rely on in the next 12 months and the fact that after 4 years there are still question marks against him says it all.

cancello was great when he came on as well
