Chicago

I remember watching a late night programme as a kid called turtles chicago. All I remember was it was called the windy city and looked pretty seedy.

It’s called The Windy City not for the weather, but the hot air emanating from the mouths of the city’s politicians!

Seedy? Well, every great city has a few places one might better avoid. But, to be fair, I think Chicago is far less seedy than many big cities like NYC, LA, San Francisco.

Nice bit of trivia, thanks for that mate.

I paid a fortune (for me) for a meal at a restaurant at the top of the John Hancock building with a window table. The views would of been stunning if it hadn't been thick cloud at the top and couldn't see a bloody thing. Went back the day after when it was clear and it was stunning views across the city and Lake Michigan.

Loved Chicago as a city. Much more than say New York which was just a bit too full on for me. Did a cubs game which was a great experience but i think that baseball is done this season for the cubs now.
The bars around Wrigley Field (Cubs) are rockin on a game night.
Could also do a speedboat ride out on Lake Michigan from Navy Pier.
There was biker bar with a mechanical bull, (Hogs 'n Honeys) not too far out from downtown if you want that sort of thing.
Other nightlife - Mother Hubbards is usually open pretty late, if still going.
Bear in mind I was last there about 12 years ago..

Off to Chicago next weekend for the marathon, anyone been? Any top tips for stuff to do apart from run a marathon and eat pizza
One of my favourite cities. I live 6 hours away and we usually go to the Navy Pier, Willis tower. You can check out the Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium. Although if you are okay spending a bit then take the river architecture tour.
