Chicago

I paid a fortune (for me) for a meal at a restaurant at the top of the John Hancock building with a window table. The views would of been stunning if it hadn't been thick cloud at the top and couldn't see a bloody thing. Went back the day after when it was clear and it was stunning views across the city and Lake Michigan.

Loved Chicago as a city. Much more than say New York which was just a bit too full on for me. Did a cubs game which was a great experience but i think that baseball is done this season for the cubs now.
Of course the Cubs season is over silly. After all it’s October!!

My favourite city in the US. The Art Institute is a must. If you’re into that kind of thing, the Shedd Aquarium is also outstanding. Make sure you spend one evening/early morning at Blue Chicago jazz club. Close by there is a great little bar that’s open until 5am, but damned if I can remember the name.

Just looking at the trip advisor reviews of blue Chicago, did you encounter the bouncer that everyone seems to be moaning about?

Number 1 in architectural beauty in US, and one of the top worldwide. Also, the old little suburb Oak Park is not far away (less than 10 miles directly to the west) with original and influenced-by Frank Lloyd Wright’s style everywhere, including his own home and studio; a museum now. Several small ethnic restaurants are in Oak Park as well. You could take the L train to get there in half an hour or so.

I’ve been there a few times over the last 10-15 years. I know there is a bouncer, but have no recollections of him, good or bad. Some people will moan about anything online. Usual rules apply - don’t be a dick and you’ll be fine.

Yep online reviews are usually done by the knobs who couldn't get in, there's a few on trip advisor complaining that they were asked to pay to get in, fuck me if thems the rules thems the rules,

I'm going to be there with 2 other lads and we all into our house music, considering Chicago and it's history of house music I can't seem to see anywhere online that is a house music club, is the Google failing me or has it all been taken over by blues clubs nowadays?
