Chilli Sauce (and other gourmet sauces).

Is chilli sauce considered gourmet nowadays? Here in Asia it's served with everything just like ketchup. Cheap as shit. I've got a fridge full of free sachets you get with deliveries.
 
I have it on virtually every meal I eat. Drives my mrs round the bend as I put it on everything…love the stuff. Usually have an array of about 2-3 to choose from
My wife has just complained that I want some chili sauce. What is that about?
 
My favourites are:

Dave's Gourmet - Ultimate Insanity (Temporary Insanity is also nice if you don't like it too hot). Also their Ghost and Scorpion pepper sauces are very nice too.

Blair's Death sauce

My favourite of all is (despite the name) Da Bomb Hot Sauce.

Tabasco Habanero is lovely as well and not very hot. A 50:50 mix with HP sauce on a burger is really nice.

A 'mate' once put Dave's on my eyelids after I passed out at a house party..... I woke up suddenly with the most excruciating pain as I frantically tried to remove my contact lenses! Trip to A&E followed and after numerous washouts, I could see again!
 
Second the OP's recommendation for Elliot Eastwick's world famous hot sauce. It's brilliant.

Also, he's a blue and a funny fucker. What's not to like.
 
I take it the hot sauce fans in here all watch the ‘Hot Ones’ interviews on YouTube? Some big big stars being interviewed while eating wings doused in increasingly hotter chilli sauces.
Hilarious stuff, the Gordon Ramsey, Paul Rudd, Matt Damon and Will Ferrell ones are particular standouts

 
When it comes to pure flavour Tabasco always comes out top for me; I buy the bigger catering size bottles off eBay because I use so much of it.
Encona sauces are great too, and Scotch Bonnet Pepper sauce has an amazing flavour.
Speaking of flavour; I’m becoming more and more pissed off with HP sauce now - it’s not a patch on how it used to be. Bloody Americans have fucked with the ingredients to make it healthier.
Can anyone recommend a decent alternative to HP please?

It's funny how tastebuds evolve as we get older. When I was younger, chilli was just "hot"
Now I can tell a good chilli sauce from an average one, and it's nothing to do with hotness, or price even.
I cook with tabasco, but I find it a bit harsh for everyday add ins.
