Chinese State Visit to CFA (23/10/2015)

Correct we do not have the skills to complete the work ourselves. But as a backdrop to this the project itself is a loss leader the reason why no one will touch it is that its a white elephant. EDF already run the risk of losing share value when they start building this. The only reason the Chinese want to invest in this so that they can build the next white elephant we have planned and showcase their talents in building nuclear plants.

Funnily enough the German's have shut down 6 nuclear power stations immediately after the Fukashima tragedy and the plan to shut down the rest before we Hinckly is finished focusing more on renewables which they see as the future. To put into an analogy as was quoted by a Green Party MP yesterday Osborne is putting all his money on a nag running backwards.
Shouldn't we be taking renewable energy more seriously? Nobody wants to live near a nuclear powerplant and hopefully there will come a day where nobody has to.

Was just reading that there was a day this year where Germany were able to get 78% of it's power from renewable sources, we've had some of the best Scientists around in this country, surely we can be doing better than we are at the moment on the renewable energy front?

Just because the Germans have bottled it with Nuclear doesn't mean they're right, just means they've bottled it!

I don't know if you look around there seems to be plenty of very smart people telling us somethings wrong with the way we are getting our power. Could it really be that there's too much money in resources that aren't renewable for some rich influential people? I'm not quite totally on board with that conspiracy but I think clearly the people who are making millions of fossil fuels and nuclear power would obviously oppose a drastic shift... if the science backs it up why not switch to renewable energy? Cheaper, greener, safer... whats wrong with that?

More power from the sun hits the Earth in a single hour than humanity uses in an entire year

Free Electric hybrid bike able to supply a rural household's electricity needs for 24 hours with a single hour of pedaling (

Thats from the 5-hour Energy drink creator, saw it on youtube, they are up to some pretty interesting stuff... like sea water into fresh water, human health etc.

Interesting plans using Graphene to harness the power of the earths core(to be honest drilling into the earths core sounds a bit dangerous to me but probably safer than nuclear and it's unlimited).

Not watched the vid yet but I'd heard they're looking at using Graphene products to filter sea water.
Possible announcement on Chinese investment in Graphene today (Huawei).

Also: China + Pandas + Collar site = Panda World.
Finally.

I'm appalled that City are welcoming a despotic leader guilty of human rights abuses to the CFA. Apparently President Xi Jinping will also be there too. Arf.

On a serious note, I imagine it's only a matter of time before a Chinese team is added to the City Football Group.

Of course we can do much better we have some of the finest educational establishments in the world and this is what we should be investing our time and efforts in. Cameron is keen to harp on about legacy's and what he leaves behind. How about beating the Germans and the rest and creating world class renewable energy sources.

France has got the right idea. 90% of its energy is low carbon and they don't have thousands of wind turbines littering the countryside.

He will be converted once he's been, meant to be a rag from all accounts, that will change today hopefully
Why would we give a shit what some Chinese dictator claims to support, but probably never watches or spends money on? I'd rather not end up like the rags parading their endless supply of celebrity "fans."
