Sad it’s extremely sad I knew him from a friend of a friend, if anyone knows of anybody who’s low just an offer of a walk and a talk can be so helpful , trust me just setting an hour aside for some goes a long way, it can be so encouraging that alls not lost.

If you don’t feel you can talk to a family member or friend then get straight to your GP. It’s absolutely dreadful that suicide is such a big killer of younger men.

The GP shout is a good one.

Having experienced depression, in the midst of the worst of it, I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to do less than opening up to family and friends about it.

And I didn’t, but I also didn’t speak to anyone else. I just ploughed through and eventually came through the other side. But unfortunately, for some, they don’t.

If people knew they could speak to their GP about this sort of thing, it might change lives. Mental and physical health are both ‘health’, Doctors aren’t just there for coughs and aches.

This is easier said than done. You can't just get into see a GP. And before you do, you have to speak to a receptionist.
