Christine Mcvie RIP

Never knew she was with Chicken Shack
I played this song on the pub juke box so much back in the day. What I didn’t know was she was voted best female vocalist by Melody Maker in 69 & 70, whilst with Chicken Shack.

RIP Christine McVie.
One of a kind.
A truly gifted musician and songwriter.
Best British female songwriter IMHO

Saw her in Chicken Shack many times. She was not really the right style for them but they were good.
I have seen today an obit that said she joined FM after PG had left. Maybe technically right but she is credited as the keyboard on their second album, Mr Wonderful and made an uncredited appearance on the third album Then Play On, and PG was certainly still playing with them then. This was around 1968.
She was dragged into the feud between PG and Jeremy Spencer, Spencer refusing to have her play on his tracks and over dubbing keyboards himself.
RIP Christine, perfect.

McVie is my favorite member of the superstar group Fleetwood Mac. She was able to compose simple yet eloquent verse, capturing the feeling of falling in love, and to pair those lyrics with pleasing melody.

Among her compositions compositions that I best love are these:

and my favorite:

The world has lost a musical genius.

RIP Christine.
