Christmas markets

I admit I’ve only been to the Manchester one once, with my Canadian granddaughters after a match. I was spoilt by the ones in Germany and Belgium on the City trips. They were Christmassy, reasonably priced and the Gluhwein was delicious!

Posted before ... It is kinda genuine German gluhwein I suppose. Aldi is German. ;-)1622.jpg

what they like in prague? I've booked for new year and I believe the xmas markets are still on until the 6th Jan?

Pretty much standard fare really, lots of food and drink and the usual arts and crafts stuff. The main positive is the location of the biggest part of the markets in Old Town Square, with the clock and church as the backdrop, which if it snows makes it really nice.

There are other smaller markets in Wenceslas Square, there's another outside the Palladium shopping centre and one in the grounds of Prague Castle as well.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip with or without the markets anyway.

We're going on the 20th and back on the 27th.

Prague really is an absolute beauty of a place. Must go back soon.

Worked and lived there for 10 years and loved it.

Ended in divorce mind!

But, because I met my now second wife Eva, so it was worth it haha

I do like Cologne, probably just tops Munich as my favourite German City with honourable mentions to Hamburg and Berlin.
Düsseldorf!

RE: Currywurst. I’d like to obtain a UK based supplier of the sauce so I can make my own.

I found Düsseldorf more of an industrial city. Enjoyed it as I do in pretty much all German cities but wasn’t enough going on for me.

Even in the Altstadt? Love it there.
Yeah, but that’s literally the only place I can think of where you could do stuff. Not knocking it, was ok but just way down on the list of German cities I’ve been to.
