City’s Away Support Tonight

Brilliant watch that. Loved listening to some of the older blues.Well done Cheeseman.

The United We Stand podcast is hilarious. All they could do in weary, resigned, pained tones is have a go at our fans. Oh, and pine for the return of Chris Smalling.

Long may their suffering continue.

I was in amonst their lot last night, E331 above our boys. The natives weren't happy, must have been 8/10 of them sat near me didn't bother with the 2nd half. Sat there with a smug grin listening to our lads singing loud and proud all night.

Disagree. Both about death. Both in different contexts admittedly. Funnily enough, they started singing it when it kicked off on the forecourt after the game last night. Sheltered and protected by the police obviously

While that song doesn't offend me, anyone who still has the full game on their planner from the 2008 50th anniversary Munich derby, play it from the start of the match and you'll find that they were singing that "City's gonna die...." song in the first few minutes. I had no idea on the day as I was at the game and couldn't hear it, but when I played it back the following day I was astonished that they actually sang it at that particular game, given the context and how impeccably our fans behaved in the build-up.

Just got in. Sat down. Opened a bottle of Proper Job. Having a celebratory drink before I go to bed. :-)

I don’t want this post to be an us and them post. Because at the end of the day we’re all City fans.

But they away end was full of local City fans tonight. Apart from Zinchenko and his Mrs. ;-)

And didn’t it make a Hell of a difference!

City’s away support was immense.

I’ve been lucky enough to go to OT on numerous occasions in the past and tonight’s support was one of the best I’ve ever heard. Especially in the 1st half.

Hopefully the club have taken note of the tremendous away support tonight?

When City go to Old Trafford again for the PL game, I hope they club will make more tickets available for City’s local support.

A big thank you to Pep and the team for a wonderful performance, and a wonderful night at Old Trafford.

Good night. :-)

Is it 'lucky'? Apart from a freebie when they player Brighton in the League Cup and half filled the ground, the last City game I saw was when the Drunked Wife Beater and LIver Thief was playing for the kids. The medication I've been taking has just come good!

Agree it was very good for the most part last night, but I still felt there were periods of silence in our end where too many of our fans collectively shit themselves when they attacked even though we were 3-0 up, but yes, it felt louder than our last few derbies there. Agree with others that United's fans were poorer than at pretty much any other derby I've seen us there in the last quarter of a century with the possible exception of the League Cup game there in 2016 but as we had a much bigger allocation that night I suppose the two games can't really be compared. I'll give their singing section in the corner of the Stretford End some credit - they kept going for the most part, but some of that will be down to defiance at being 3 nil down.

Meanwhile over on that Twitter, the future Poet Laureate and fellow fan fleecer, Pete 'pete' Boyle saying we were quiet last night and when he could hear us it was songs that he would expect from a non-league following, the notrite delusional fuckwit.

As opposed to all the nursery rhymes that they belt out which you'd expect from kids of primary school age? ;) He's a bit of a weird one is Pete Boyle - actually had a couple of good conversations with him on Twitter then he comes out with shite like that!

Anyone know who these two are?

About 15 of these vermin tried surrounding a blue on his own, while he held his kid in his arms, because he dared sign the KDB song while they shot this pathetic little video. You can hear him just as they cut it off at the end. That's when they try and go for him.

The little rat on the left in particular was giving it large. Fucking wet wipe, always the big men in numbers. Vermin.

Doesn't offend me either but it's the context and the double standards that gets me every time. It's a song they've sung for years that has never been spoken about by the media. Nothing surprises me with that lot.

Walking up Warwick Rd last night after the game and listening to them moaning about City fans being let out there was a particular favourite. The way GMP police the two different grounds is worlds apart. At the Etihad, they won't allow us to move the away fans anywhere because of the coach park at the back, yet at Old Trafford, away fans are expected to run the gauntlet as soon as they walk out of the place. Make you laugh when you see all their wannabe hooligans bouncing about behind the police.
