Manchester City, City, MCFC, Man City it's all the same; the Sky Blues from Manchester.

Anyone claiming to not recognise the term Man City is clutching.

Take a look at 70's memorabilia, patches badges and god knows what with Man City on.

If other fans want to refer to us as Man City so be it, could be a lot worse.

I feel like putting acid in my eyes reading the last few pages of this thread. Who gives a fuck what’s on our shirt. City, Man City, Manchester City, blues. Any of them would be alright. But from a marketing point of view, Man City is probably the best suited for a shirt.

Of course it isn’t in general conversation in Manchester. City will suffice. Sometimes it will need clarification, then some say Manchester some say Man, thats always been the case as long as I remember, getting hung up one or the other is just daft, as is saying nobody within 30 miles of Manchester ever uses Man City when City isn’t enough.

I’ve never heard that said in that context by someone local. Ever.

Have I seen it on flags, scarves etc, have I heard it sung at games, have I heard people from around the country say it? Of course I fucking have.

Have I ever been asked by a local if I know the Man City score? Absolutely not. Ever.
