City’s New Kits - 2021/22

And one of the people so out of touch is our own brilliant sorry deluded skipper Fernandinho! “The badge may change over time, but the name will live forever.”
Yes the badge may change but it’s only been going a few years so I rather think these horrible little tee-shirts might wear out by then! We are proud of our badge is our skipper (their word by the way, I prefer captain but I guess since VK left we haven’t had one of those!) not proud of it and us? That isn’t a football kit it’s a casual wear out anywhere flipping, stupid tee-shirt! AAAARRRGGGHHH Ooops don’t usually get this worked up about our ‘kit’ but NO BADGE IS AN ABOMINATION!!!
To be fair to Fernandinho, he hasn’t said that. I knew that was the puma tag line for this range of kits months ago so reckon it’s been attributed to all the teams’ captains.

Fucking abomination of a kit. Worse than the Cillit Bang and the pina colada.

spot on, although it does have our badge on back of the shirt proper tiny in size near the neckline above where players name goes, but that’s no consolation & your point is spot on regardless.

The problem for me is the shirt has no badge on the chest (save the watermarks) It's literally the most important thing about a football shirt. Even if puma had done what they did with the white Italy away which had a badge & the text, granted would still be naff, but at least the crest would be visible. To leave it off the shirt is almost sacrilege imo

"And b-r-e-a-t-h-e"

exactly mate, what’s this other fella on about we’ve been Man City since me first game at Maine Road in 1989, or did i dream it, we’ve been Man City bouncing up and down the leagues whilst i visited the delights of macclesfield, Lincoln, bristol rovers and wrexham & even picking up countless trophies over last decade n all.

Yeah Man City scans well in songs. But it's not our name and I don't think it should be on our shirts in place of the club badge.

Another issue I don’t understand. Why do kit manufacturers just copy kits for each club? Surely each one should have its own unique design?

It just looks lazy. And in this instance, it stands out even more.
Costs. I know it's hard to believe at times but people are paid to come up with these deigns. above all though, there's many cost saving exercises when they use templates for nearly all teams, every manufacturer does it bar the odd few sides that sell enough shirts to be able to demand a unique template and even then that unique template is generally used for everybody else the season after.
