City 10 Huddersfield Town 1

That wierd little section of seats between North and Main stand was officially the Family stand, altho,in reality anyone could go in there.
I brought a ticket for the game at the ticket office 90 mins before k,o and ended up in this section..the police security /cctv ? Box was directly behind this stand at the back..ie directly facing the kippax, which was half empty that day..
I distinctly remember udders fans doing the Conga around the front of Platt Lane, great laugh.
Little did i know, huddersfield was gonna play quite a part in my City 87/88 season...had my first taste of West Yorkshire bitter before the fa cup 3rd round match at Leeds rd...and was there in the pouring rain for the 2nd replay which we won 3nil after the nil nil draw at Maine rd.
Pretty sure Udders beat us 1nil in the return league match...10 goals over two league games..but only 3 pts...typical city.
.we funished 12th that year iirc.
Off the top of my head I’d guess at 9th

I seem to remember us going to Plymouth on the Monday (or Tuesday) and scoring 6 at theirs.
Or did we? My mind isn't as sharp as it used to be.
Fairly sure that the Plymouth game was at Maine Road. Full members cup game and only the main stand and kippax were open

Huddersfield was the only home match I missed all season. Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I heard the result

One of my all time favourite City fixtures which I've heard many tales of blues missing the fixture for various reasons.

Collection of memorabilia from the match dated 7th November 1987

I feel really old now after seeing this.
The MEN aren't slagging us

We were at home. Adcock got another hat trick. 6-2.
Or it could be that my memory is playing games with me!!!
Should really remember, it was only a few years ago, wasn’t it?
