City - a club who listen? CityView/Catering rant

I have let's say 2 close relatives who started this season working behind the counters. They had a total of
2 bloody hours training the week before the Chelsea game. One had only 2 out of 5 tills working, and no card machine
Working. On another counter , no curry, gravy. and all the chips under cooked and no one even bothered
to plug the coolers in.
So just take a minute and don't give the poor kids a mouth full its not there fault. they are on minimum wage
with piss poor training trying there best, oh and they even have to stay 90 mins after game without pay until all
the tills are talled up. Treated like shit for £30 a game and there 3 hours before kick off.
And if anyone says otherwise, there full of shit. Fact !!!

Agree with this , short term thinking on behalf of the franchisee . What they should do is pay them say £10 or £12 an hour so that they are highly motivated and work their asses of for the short period they work , would not cost that must extra and would be more than made up for with the extra beer and food sold , also would increase the chances of the staff returning and giving a better service as they learn instead of new faces each week .

Have a fast lane with a fast pour like at Everton that only sells lager nothing else. That worked a treat.

This worked a treat , had basically one guy serving the whole upper bullens , pint poured in literally seconds and bottled cider also available , quick and simply to implement at he ground

Why should us people that don't drink cats piss suffer? OP suggested that club should take tea/coffee out to make way for more cats piss when in fact you ought to save them from themselves by taking out all the cats piss and directing them all to the free stuff available in the nearby toilets lol

if its flat on top n bottom its a muffin. typically done on a griddle or in a pan. Not getting into the barm vs bun debate though

Moggymoz, why can those people who don't want beer but would like a tea or a coffee not be catered for just like the rest of you? I don't go for any of the options at half time because I like to talk to the people around me but if I did I would want a tea or even a hot chocolate!!

2002 I went to Hamburg v City pre season friendly, at half time, dozens of pints all on a table waiting to be served......
People behind the table constantly topping it up.....
Two / three servers..... ''2 beers please'' woman turned round and grabbed two beers and paid for within seconds.
That was 13 years ago so why we havent caught on is beyond me.

As above, pay the staff more and give them the tools to do the job. Easily over double the current amount of beer would be sold if City got their act together. I recall the Oasis gig I went to and missed half of Doves because the bird I was with at the time wanted a drink....... was well pissed off.

You shouldn't be allowed in side if you want a hot chocolate !

I dont think he means ''lets not sell tea or coffee at all'', I assume he meant let bars be for beers and food / non alcoholic drinks be served in other areas.

What about if between you one wants a beer and the other (who is driving) wants a coffee. Do they really need to queue at a separate till purely because the bars can't handle two tes of drink.

The coffee is just hot water on draft poured into a cup that has coffee in. Really should take less time than a pint anyway as less liquid to be poured.

You mean I have to want cold chocolate? ;-)

Why? People might go for themselves, their wives/husbands/partners and therefore need beer + tea + coffee (& hot choc) and then have to queue at two outlets which makes it even more stressful.

This is the right answer. If the Mrs wants a cup of tea and a Kit Kat, tell her to fucking queue up at the cafe bar for it
Two people serving, two people pulling pints and charge to the pound (eg £4, not £3.90) so there's hardly any mucking about with change
There should be 50 pints poured and ready to serve five minutes into half time

If you need a drink to warm you up on a cold day then I would recommend a Courvoisier VSOP fine champagne cognac, rather than some luke warm water with chocolate powder in

LOL. I nearly commented.

I'd be interested in the outcome. I don't drink at the game usually but I gave up getting a coffee as it tastes nothing like coffee. Blackburn sell good coffee! There must be a reason why they don't pre pour. It's not a new idea is it and it would up profits for sure.

Under minimum wage limits?

I can't understand why City don't hire/fire themselves I'm sure with proper trained part-time staff the bars would make much more money.

Outside the ground the small bar at the side of the stage had a big fuck off queue which stretched to the entrance if the bar area, gid knows how anyone could work out where to stand when it for busy.

Because usually people complain they want a fresh pint instead of a pre poured one

After the Chelsea game, I posted a bit of a moan on the CityView page about the length of time it takes to get served a pint at half time - first game of the season is ALWAYS the worst as new staff bed in and the summer gremlins raise their heads - but still 25 minutes+ to get a pint of Fosters was unacceptable. (I know...man up and drink real beer etc etc)

I thought nothing of my moan until City, well more precisely the director of FanFayre contacted me direct to ask me to meet with them to discuss the bars at the Watford game.

I know they won't change the beers - but I will be suggesting more "fast flow" pumps and getting rid of tea and coffee at the bars (they slow everyone down) - particularly in the South Stand, where there seems to be less bars and more need than in the North where I was last season.

I'll also suggect they utilise the new space near under the SS.

It's actually really good to see the club and catering company listen - can only be a positive.

Apart from the obvious "price" and "what beers are on offer" does anyone else have any ideas I can put to them. I seriously don't want to change the world, I just want my half time pint to be cold and available before the second half starts.

I shall also enquuire as to their position on whether it is a barm/muffin/roll/bottom/breadcake!

I wouldn't bother with this one! Kool Hand Khaldoon has spoken, has he not!

Mind, I don't know how we beat CFC - no fuckin' chips when I went to Catering on CBL3 pre-match!
