(City Act Now) Some of our fans last night.......

Heres a great idea, stay the f*ck at home and watch games on telly, maybe you will see an advert that will offend you so you can write to someone and whine.

But you ignore a simple fact, abuse at games is aimed at winding up the other sides players and supporters, but by your standards its somehow different to shout fat or ginger compared to black or gay...............so its you that brings a racial or homophobic element into being by creating a difference, equal rights means treat everone the same.

As for the munich idiots, I do find that offencive, but the difference is I tell them to shut the f*ck up, and why its so offencive to any blue, not whinge to a steward.

Does Peter Fletcher (Stadium and Safety Manager) still work at City? If he cant help you im sure he can point you in the right direction.

I wrote to Peter Fletcher about 3 years ago after a cup game, the 2 men 2 rows behind me (the block was pretty empty) never stopped with their racial hatred. Never. Add sexism and some munich songs and they made me sick. But, as a shy person scared of comeback - and as a woman too, i was too scared to walk along my row to go tell a steward on the day, as the guys behind would have known it was me when the steward came back to them, and my worry was what if they don't then get moved, they could give me a ton of abuse.. or follow me out afterwards.. Cowardly maybe, but if you'd had bad peronsal experiences of an attack yourself you might have been afraid you react too.
But it was the least enjoyable city match of my life.
I took their seat numbers, and wrote to the club explaining what went on, and detailed what they said and everything, saying i hoipe the club can track them and ban them. The reply i got back astounded me. Basically i was being told by Peter Fletcher that i should have reported them on the day and that they will do nothing about it now, and he also told me that no one else complained and pretty much accused me of making it up, and went on again about how i (yes, me! not those guys but me!) let the club down by not reporting them on the day.

I was in tears with that email from him. So upset. I told him so too in a reply, and got even more stick back from him. His reply and comments became personal, which was very very wrong imo.
Myabe he was having a bad day, or 2. But to talk to a lifelong supporter like that, in such bullying negative tones, it was wrong. I had my reasons, and i was doing good (so i thought) writing afterwards to report them.
I was going to write to someone at city after that to complain about Fletcher, but i became ill afterwards and decided it would only make me stressed and probably wouldn't get me anywhere.

Long story i know, i just wanted to say good luck with getting problems stamped out.

(edit to add, before anyone accuses me of not being able to take "banter" - i can banter with the best of them! I love atmosphere, sing and chant the good stuff, but due to personal experience i'm not into confrontation with the nasty ones. And on that occasion i hoped someone else would have reported them on the day, and that my email would have been counted as a follow up.. unfortunately other people found monkey boy and ****** chants (amongst many other disgusting things) acceptable. I'm a lifelong blue, been season ticket for over 20 years now btw). Oh and i can swear with the best of them!)

The adebayor song is offensive to adebayor and the Munich songs have nothing to do with any other team except for united so it cannot be offended the other team in a friednly with ranges.
I love to have a sing song and it makes the game so much better, but there are some dickhead fans who want to sing about shit. People can sing the good songs all they want, like the tevez song, shauny wright wright wright, blue moon, arc now here etc.. because they make the atmosphere better and I will join in with them. But the adebayor one is just offensive.

Ah, the old ginger/fat abuse = racial abuse analysis.

The stuff of genius.

"And for that reason, I'm ooot"

cannot understand why they sing the "the adebayor song" as its negative about OUR player...where did this come from...did we make it up or did we plagerise it from spurs fans ?

Having said that and again as I said before....WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE ?.......in the past City have sung about Roslers dad bombing ragsville and Sun Jihai owning a chippy...these offend certain people but should they be banned ?

If you look through history, people have not generally suffered slavery, genocide or imprisonment due to being fat or ginger. There is a difference, we can see from history that racism is certainly more dangerous and divisive than "fatism" although I take your point that being overtly horrible and nasty to people is unacceptable regardless of the form of discrimination you choose to use as your weapon. That is your point isn't it?

Just to point out something fans may be aware of but maybe not, making racist chants is an arrestable offence not just ejection - there is no grey area and no warning givenon this, we will immediately inform the police. This is part of of the ground regulations, with regards to swearing obviously in the heat of the moment this can happen and may be overlooked however consistant bad language will result in ejection and further action may be taken by the club. Sorry to put my stewards head on here but just in case anybody was unsure thought I would clarify. ;)

Trigger, where does calling Roy Keane a pikey sit in this PC world of ours ?

Not the same and you know it. Why someone would chant someones mum is a whore for no apparent reason and that a black mans dad washes elephants just because he's black is unbelievable. Might as well tell your mate from the council estate his mum's a crack whore?
