City and FFP article

The writer for that site is a deranged rag who fancies himself another Swiss Ramble. He has some pretty obvious holes in his in his understanding of FFP and accounting in general.

He's been found out on various other sites before.

I haven't bothered reading the blog, doesn't seem much point I know what will be in it anyway.

"The slimy fat French bastard" will give up once the sponsors of the CL tell him that not having the English Champions in his flagship money maker, means they won't pay up the full amount as it devalues the competition. He'll have to because that will reduce the income of the rest of the european "super" clubs, something none of them can afford.

Not having the english champions in the CL would be a disaster for UEFA, so I expect lots of moaning and groaning, and a reluctant, "it'll not be allowed to happen again (well apart from PSG obviously)".

Sponsors want the most popular teams in the finals nothing more than that - a Barca v Real or Rags or Bayern is what they want.

I suspect that if Real or Barca or Rags were to be excluded then that would be more of an issue than if city were currently.
Well after the way we won the league and the publicity it has/will bring, I'm pretty confident that we will soon be one of the most pupular. Sponsors couldn't care less who is in the final so long as it brings the biggest possible audience, and since 650 million allegedly watched our league game 3 weeks ago, I suspect that a City v united final would bring a bigger audience still.

True but it would be fair to say that many of the were rags

Right here and now City are NOT one of the global football brands - we will be i am sure but until that day comes sponsors will not be massivaly bothered as long as they get the mega clubs in the finals and we are a long long way away from a City v Rags semi ket alone a final.

True, I can't see united getting close in the near future either.

Its all just media scare mongering , the sheikh , has spent over £500m , do they really think he will not have a plan to negate the FFP rules? Is it likely that Platini will ban from europe possibly the 3rd best football squad (after Real and Barca) in europe , and deny the sky viewers the opportunity to watch these top class european players that are in our squad.
Platini is just reacting to the likes of Gill at yooonited and that twat at bayern , rumennige , they dont want any team gate crashing their champs league wank fest Well its too late Platini , Chelsea have just won the champs league , and we are going to win it within the next 2 years , so the established clubs like AC,Bayern,Yooonited,Liverpool, etc etc can go and whistle.

Wow this guy has been on the radio and in the press and he's taken the time to make several wrong comments on my figures which I did just for my own interest. Must be pretty keen on doing down City.

Any support welcome.

Not a bad analysis Blue Fill.
As for Ed Thompson, when writing about selling players to make up the difference, he opines:

it will interesting to see if clubs decide that helping City’s FFP test by buying their players is not something they want to do.

Boateng has gone to Bayern & they've been sniffing round Dzeko.
Apparantly, Madrid have made Sergio their No. 1 priority, Mario's been linked with AC Milan, Kolarov with Juve, Adebayor & Johnson linked with Spurs.

Only the most small minded of managers/owners would pull out of a buying a top player to improve their own team, for fear of aiding City in FFP.

It seems a little bit of wishful thinking is taking place from someone with an anti City agenda.

much better: <a class="postlink" href="http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/manchester-city-masterplan.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2011/ ... rplan.html</a>

Bookmarked your blog mate, was a good solid read. I'll setup a sodding blogger account to comment as i have genuine q's to ask you on there.

Kudos on that piece mate, nice to see some reasoned well formed articles on the subject that is not the swissrambler.

This guy has projected results for 2012/13, how has he come up with these figures?

Total make believe and speculation.

We will pass the rules, no matter what.

This quote made me laugh "UEFA have still to review the deal and although it seems unlikely that UEFA will reduce the contract value."

Does he seriously believe UEFA have the power to ALTER a legally binding contractual business deal. What a load of tosh.

if we fail, that it means we carnt go into the champs league, but WE can still win the prem,fa and league cup, after a few years they will beg us to come into the champs league because it would be a non event without the champs of england, likewise the spanish league or german league,
