City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

The hotel isn’t being built for football fans. No hotel is built for 20/25 nights a week. That is not a viable business plan. There will be an expectation there is enough capacity in Manchester to fill it the other 340 days of the year..

Also got a 23,500 capacity arena next door with something going on every night. Plus the area will probably attract more and more businesses in the coming years.

They don't need football tourists to fill the hotel.

Sadly it's the price of success. We all wish it wasn't but it is. The alternative is having an owner/chairman like Peter Swales, cheaper tickets and zero success. Many of us on here have experienced both. Although the 35 years of mediocrity, the pain of relegations and highs of promotions were character building and at times a blast, I certainly wouldn't swap them for the incredible football I've witnessed and trophy haul we've achieved in the last 14 years.

Football with it's ridiculous financial rules to meet and hoops to jump through to achieve those rules have contributed to rising ticket prices for every club. We're sadly probably stuck with this now and only a return to mediocrity again will lower the prices.

Same, won't be bothering with any of the cups next season.

Wouldn't be surprised if they start tagging them on to the season ticket down the line when they realise how much they've fucked up.

That will be next like the Rags.

Finally a man with reason !!!

They don't need the tourists to fill hotels, it's just greed.
Whatever people mean by ‘tourist’ and it’s becoming a bit of a meaningless insult in here it has nothing at all to do with the hotel.

That's simply not true. This isn't unique to City. Every club in the Premier League are having exactly the same issues. West Ham aren't exactly successful and their fans have been battling with their club all season. Spurs the same. It's not the price of success, it's greed.

I suggest you reread my post. Did you miss the part where I mentioned rising prices are in part down to clubs trying to meet the financial regulations?

No, it's not the price of success. People keep on posting that.

As well as being succesful, MANSOUR and his directors could have treated the fans differently, and the club still could have been successful. But instead, after being successful, our owner and his directors began taking the fans for granted, and began treating the fans like shit, only being concerned about revenues and making money.

Remember MANSOUR's and Khaldoon's hollow words about how important the fans are/were to both of them? As it turns out, it was all PR bullshit, and they lied to us, but we didn't know that at the time. We do now.

Before this announcement we already had eight official ticket reseller partners. What do Viagogo bring to the table that the others can’t and will this mean we can reduce the number of partners in this sector. If I was one of the eight I would be asking why does this company generate an announcement when to the best of my knowledge the others didn’t. Are they receiving something the others aren’t?

We are a business now and have been for a long time,a very successful business at that, sheikh didn't buy the club for the benefit of us fans it's what comes with success, I am against it as much as the next man, but it's not going to change I gave my season ticket up 3 years ago now, being sat next to opposing fans in the champions league games was the beginning of the end for me personally, then var and not being able to cheer a goal anymore, I will always be a blue sadly not attending any games anymore,we are not appreciated and our voice means nothing,so vote with your feet, the price of success.CTID.
I'm still a season ticket holder but I can very much relate to this. How much longer I remain a season ticket holder I really don't know. Sad in many ways especially considering the success the club has had for the last dozen or so years.

In that case, the next time you see Khaldoon or Soriano, tell them to stop paying agents £60mill a season. That will get the club passed PL financial regulations without having to increase the price of season tickets and match day tickets. Apart from that £60mill, CIty still made a huge operating profit which saw City ease past the PL financial regulations.

Maybe it’s replacing them and is an exclusive deal. Just a guess though no idea really. Maybe the compliance job that was advertised a way back has decided to get rid of those 8.
