Not worried either way if Im honest, really think this year we will do very well (by our standards)
Hardly ill informed nonsense!6one said:Ill-informed nonsense.
We need to be in pot 3. The danger teams are in pot 3 not 2 this year.
EDIT:
Atletico, Milan and PSG are in Pot 2.
Dortmund, Juventus, Ajax and Galatasaray are in Pot 3.
PSG would obviously not be easy, but I would rather face Milan/Atletico than the quality/stadium noise levels of Dortmunt, Juve or Galatasaray.
Bayern / Barca / Real / Porto / Benfica (Pot 1)
Atletico / Lyon / Shakhtar / Milan / Schalke / Marseille / CSKA / PSG (Pot 2)
Leverkusen / FC Copenhagen / Napoli / Anderlecht / Celtic / Steaua Bucuresti / APOEL Nicosia / Plzen (Pot 4)

laserblue said:My concern with the CL draw is that we'll almost certainly get a tough group again. There are two halves to the draw so City and the rags will be in separate halves. So will Chelsea and Arsenal (even if they lose the play off Fenerbahce are set to be disqualified for match fixing anyway) which means that one of them will be in City's half of the draw.
As City can't be in the same group as another English team that leaves only 3 groups we can be drawn in. Real and Barca also have to be in separate halves so one of them will head up another group. Bayern and Dortmund will also be in separate halves of the draw although Dortmund will be in pot 3. Porto and Benfica are both in pot 1 so they will be in separate halves of the draw and it's my hope that City get in one of their groups. PSG are in pot 2 and Napoli are in pot 4 which is a bit scary.
City are in either pot 2 or pot 3. Assuming it's pot 3, which appears more likely, the nightmare scenario would be Barcelona, PSG and Napoli. The most favourable at the moment (before the play offs have been decided) would be something like Benfica, CSKA Moscow and Maribor or Viktoria Plzen.
This splitting of the groups (which is for TV reasons only) is why City got Dortmund as their pot 4 team last season. With few teams left in the pot and Bayern in the same half of the draw as the rags by default City ended up with Dortmund while the rags got Cluj and Chelsea got Nordsjaelland.
I wouldn't worry about this anymorePam said:Does anyone know if we would be affected should the Tarquins get knocked out of the CL before the group stages? Will it affect our seeding, I'm wondering?
This is how it stands:
POT 1
Bayern München
FC Barcelona
Chelsea
Real Madrid
Manchester United
Arsenal (practically through after winning 3-0 away to Fenerbahce)
FC Porto
Benfica
POT 2
Atlético Madrid
Shakhtar Donetsk
AC Milan (should manage to beat PSV at home after drawing 1-1 away)
Schalke 04* (in danger of going out to PAOK Salónika)
Olympique Marseille
CSKA Moscow
Paris Saint-Germain
Juventus
POT 3
Zenit St.Petersburg (practically through after winning 4-1 away to Paços)
Manchester City
Ajax
Borussia Dortmund
FC Basel (should go through after winning 4-2 away to Ludogorets)
Olympiakos Piraeus
Galatasaray
Bayer Leverkusen
POT 4
FC Kobenhavn
Napoli
Anderlecht
Celtic* (in danger of going out to Shakhtyor Karaganda)
Steaua Bucuresti* (in danger of going out to Legia Warsaw)
Viktoria Plzen (should go through against Maribor after winning 3-1 at home)
Real Sociedad (should go through after winning 2-0 away to Olympique Lyon)
Austria Wien (should go through after winning 2-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb)
Possible Changes to the Pots*
If Schalke lose to PAOK Salónika, then PAOK would go into Pot 4 and every team from Zenit St. Petersburg would move up one place).
If Celtic fail to overcome the 2 goal deficit, then Shakhtyor Karaganda would move into Pot 4).
If Steaua Bucuresti lose to Legia Warsaw, then Legia would move into Pot 4)
