Mr First major black day following City many more followed most have been discussed.

I was 10 years old and went with mate paul (and both dads) after the game i was so gutted me mate paul was in floods of tears.

Little did I know this was just the start.

some people just do not realise the pain us oldies have been through over the years.

Was taking my 7 year old to his first home game and wanted to be absolutely certain of a City win, so chose Lincoln at home in the League Cup in 9. Lost one nil and were rightly booed off at half and full time! Character building stuff!

Stockport away. I couldn't get a ticket so did it as St John Ambulance staff (which I was). Not only did we (City) get beat but the blues that were there helpfully pointed out that I wasn't as slim as I could be. Fuckers

stockport away and bury at home, but the lowest point for me was the last day when we beat stoke and those two bastard Yorkshire teams, Bradford and Huddersfield both rolled over at home to help relegate us and their fans celebrated on the pitch, never forgive those fuckers .

The most shell-shocked I have been was when Derby beat us 6-0 at the Baseball Ground. We went on the football special and were herded about like cattle.

As mentioned earlier Colin Hendry had just signed but too late to be in the team. Before the match Mel Machin said he might have to wait to get his debut -muppet!

I also went to see City play Forest the same season when Gary Crosby headed the ball off Dibble's palm - was gutted as the team had played ok up until that point and it changed the game completely.

For some reason, the one that really got to me was the last game at Maine Road. The memories since the 60s were all in my head as I looked around the old ground for the very last time, and tried to take it all in.

It was meant to be a celebration. The result didn't matter but we went and lost. So I didn't even stay for Badly Drawn Boy. Is there a more poignant typical city moment?

yeah that was a sad sad day. was in the north stand.left at the final whistle , couldn,t stand the thought of some band "celebrating" the end of an era.still remember walking down claremont road, looking back every now and again,not quite believing i,d never see city at maine road ever again...

went back the day after we won the title, had a few drinks in the albert,then returned to the" ground" ,seemed fitting to go back as champions of england...then sadness once again.

still miss maine road. miss the kippax, and miss properly celebrating goals, stood up on a terrace,going mental.
oh well, you cant have everything.....
