City - big club or not ?

Of course we’re a big club. We meet every possible criteria you could think of to define what a big club is.

The only people who say we’re a small club are the insecure bitter jealous faceless trolls on social media
Defining a big club is subjective.

Therefore it’s a stick to beat us with as they can define the terms upon what they define makes a club big.

True, but I’m struggling to think of more than onecriteria you could come up with to define a big club that we don’t meet

maybe only being the champions of Europe.. but that means that Arsenal aren’t a big club and forest are

anyway it’s all bollocks

I wouldn’t waste any energy on it.

If empty seats defined the size of a club, Real and Barca are small clubs.

If a rich history defines the size of a club, then Preston are the biggest club on the planet. 19th Century Invincibles, remember?

Ignore them all and enjoy the ride. Whatever you think about sizes of clubs, we’ve won more premier league titles than anyone else since 2010.

That’ll do for me.

Liverpool fans mocking the parade attendance yesterday made me laugh. Sure they got more than us but most of those lining the streets to watch Henderson drive around holding the trophy literally only became Liverpool fans so they could watch their players lift trophies. Either that or they support Liverpool because their dad/mum/uncle/whatever also supported Liverpool, and guess what? That relative probably only supports Liverpool because they were successful when they were a kid. It's not like the city of Liverpool has a population of hundreds of millions now is it?

Funny that it's only when it's us or Chelsea that the fans who chose the club are called glory hunters. Where do Liverpool and United fans think their massive fanbases come from exactly?

And so fucking what....

I dont know if this has been covered before but I dont get the obsession of being a "Big Club", what exactly does it mean? Having a large number of supporters from over seas and selling out every game? That seems to be only real things I can see it meaning.

We're a local club with a growing amount of foreign supporters which will grow more and more, we dont sell out every game because it takes several generations of success for more and more kids to support you and then be able to sell out bigger grounds, I don't really care about it, all I care about is us being successful. I dont get the "small club" trope, its the first thing anyone says about us, I'd much sooner be a small club who is successful rather than a "Big Club" struggling. Then there is the argument that when clubs are talked about as being "big" when they have won the European Cup, such as Nottingham, Leeds, Villa, I certainly wouldn't want to swap positions with any of them.

Maybe in a couple of decades we will be deemed a "Big club" by other fans but if not, who gives a shit, I'm incredibly proud of our club and our achievements either way!
Leeds? Leeds have never won the European Cup. They’ve never won a UEFA trophy. They’ve only ever won three league titles, one FA Cup and one EFL Cup in their history.

Forest are just a little club who had a great era under one manager who took them out of the division they’d almost always been in, took them to the top division, then won the league and won the European Cup twice, won a few more trophies, then they drifted back to the level they had nearly always been in.

City have won more trophies in the last 6 years than Villa have in the last 110 years.
