City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

They include free travel in some European countries so why not here

I do a coach from Middleton so I know the approximate cost of putting a bus on and the club could afford it

What they get in return is less traffic around the ground, less people getting into the ground late, might actually make money on food to cover it.
Yeah. The club can afford everything the fans demand. Why should they try to make the club self sufficient & competitive

Call me cynical but I feel the club has collaborated with Manchester council to restrict free parking around the stadium so they can make even more money out of us with this scheme. All take and on the make, they're taking the piss.
Cynical

I used the existing Macc service a couple of times earlier in the season. Only ever 4 or 5 on it plus it wandered all over Heald Green and Cheadle waiting at stops where no one got on, and driver didn’t know where he was going! This looks more flexible, better organised and cheaper, and can use one way, so looks a positive development for getting home, particularly night games.
There’s already a bullocks coach that goes through heald green and Cheadle that gets quite busy. Probably why no one was getting on the Macc service

The bus service is already running season ticket should get one fare on any bus day of game I understand night game biggest issue but there going to have to have do something to get concert goers back to town

It depends how long the bus is going to wait after the match, especially after midweek matches. People want to get home quickly after a midweek match. They don’t want to be sat on a bus for 20 minutes after the match. Then you have to factor in traffic, buses are slower than cars as a rule, and people getting off at bus stops, etc.
It gives a departure time and pick up point on the website. Approximately 30mins after the final whistle from where they dropped you off. It's a direct service to and from the ground for slightly more than public transport. This is a great scheme and I'm seeing no downside to this at all.

how many buses do you think will run? how many people will use the service and pay a fare (not use a pass)? a few thousand? at very most? and what will be leftover for the club once TgFM have been paid for the buses and they've paid drivers and diesel etc? will the club make anything at all?! if they do it wont even pay one player's wage for that matchday.

Remember getting Bullock's coaches from Marple to both Home and Away games in the 70's, it was a brilliant service. Looking forward to using this new service as recently it has been a nightmare getting to and fro the Etihad.
That takes me back, didn’t you have to get a paper ticket from a little printers shop in Marple for the coach?

Regarding the fare price there are only a finite number of drivers available so it’s likely they’ll need to pay overtime rates to get anyone to volunteer to drive these. It’s also free for those with the right passes.
Just for information, the only concessionary pass that will be accepted is the over 65 free travel pass. All others, under 16s etc, won't be.

I'm a FOC so I have one.
