I used to live in Royton, so was a little intrigued.The trams at night on that line are a total knobhead lottery. I’ve seen numerous fights and anti-social behaviour on them.
One night, the tram driver refused to leave Derker station until a certain group alighted. They did eventually, whilst smashing 3 or 4 windows to show their disdain.
It can be fine, but it’s not a guarantee.

There are more staff on routes these days and that does help, but when push comes to shove, they aren’t paid enough to get stuck in when needed, so they are more of a visual deterrent.Another aspect of fans using public transport that our dear council officials haven't a clue about.
