City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

90% of the time, it’s fine, but the 10% feels a bigger percentage than it actually is. Guess you just feel wary all the time, which is unsettling.
I’ve always found it to be fine and often got the last one home to Shaw. Those seats aren’t designed for sitting on long though as I git piles last time. But that’s a separate issue!!

It is nothing new really

There used to be buses from all those areas on match days back in the 70s and 80s.

One ran from Langley to Maine Road, went through Middleton centre and Blackley.
I used to get on that back in the day. I’m gonna give it a try, can’t arsed walking from Oldham Road which is where I had to park against Burnley

Think you misunderstood me. I’d love it to be a success. It’s an admirable idea. But let’s be straight, we’re a first class team with a tenth rate infrastructure - it’s a fucking nightmare getting to and from the ground and has been since we moved from Maine Rd. as a club we could, and should have spent millions on developing a high speed transport system to and from the ground. It would necessitate local government involvement but ££££ talks.
That is not City's responsibility though and Rail projects are staggeringly expensive in this Country these days.

In the 80's BR put a station in at Derby (Rams Halt), used it on the City special once!
It is now closed and was only ever used something like half a dozen times it was open!
My point is, things were easier to do then but nowadays it would cost a fortune.

Used to get the special bus from Salford Precinct to Maine Rd, late 70's-early 80's.

Some lively times getting back off when it returned!
