Had a quick glance at that document (never seen it before so thanks for posting it) and it would appear that each single letter was anything between 100-150 discs. Let's say 120 average.

At a quick glance the total amount of letters and stars to make up the song is around 300.

That means, they were going to have to sell over 35,000+ of these bloody discs to ever complete the song!

Just what numpty in the marketing department ever thought that level of sale was achievable at the prices quoted.

I'm lost for words really.

Now we have a master plan to relocate the whole scheme to Commonwealth Way. Rather like buying a seat in CB Level 2 only to be told front row in the corner of the family stand and being asked to believe it's a good thing!

Sorry completely disagree I'm shocked that there aren't 35,000 fans that think 65 quid isn't a worthwhile investment to secure your very own bit of the club with your name and words that are meaningful to you as a City fan.

If money's tight, that's sacrificing not going to a couple of games. Great b'day present for friends and family too.

With nearly 8 million fans on fb and 40,000 going to a division 1 play-off final I can't believe that there aren't that many City fans that would want to leave their own individual and permanent mark on the etihad campus.

I think it's fantastic and can't wait to see my own disk in place at the stadium.

As if any hard up blue would miss a couple of games for a piece of plastic shite.

I wouldn't have one of these if they were free. Each to their own I suppose, but less of the "investment" and "sacrifice" melodrama, for god's sake man.

Got mine for two family members for a bit of history for future generations then the wife got me one, wouldn't have got myself one, bit cringe getting your own, but glad someone saw fit to get me one, hopefully be a place the grand kids can go to see in the future rather moping around at a grave stone, sorry to bring the tone down

Here's the main doc in the planning app for City Circle - they were going to start in the SE corner, right near the bridge and also, I suspect, where other works in association with the expansion were going to happen - so not moving far.

Me too. I also think that there will be more than enough sold to complete the project. It's just the pessimists passing off their 'opinions' as facts

I bought 2 circles and haven't heard a dickybird. I sincerely hope EVERY customer is given the choice of a refund, given this change to the advertised product.

I got mine as a Christmas present including a replica disk, so I find that very hard to believe, unless you ordered it since Christmas in which case not hearing a 'dickybird' might not be unreasonable.

If that is the case why have you not rung them instead off posting a mard arse comment.

Ordered them in December 2012, last correspondence regarding them was "your payment was successful."
Why would I ring them to see if they've decided to change what they plan to do?! What a bizarre comment.

That's not quite 'not hearing a dicky bird then!!?' You have had confirmation of your order. I am surprised that you haven't had anything posted out, such as the certificate confirming your order and next steps, hence why I would be chasing them up!!

Everyone's situation is different. I bought 2 of these at £95 a shot. There will also be people who have purchased these for departed friends and relatives in the belief they would surround the stadium. It's even possible, God forbid, that some people have passed on whilst waiting.

I bought these in Dec 12, it's now Jan 14 and we are told we will wait until Summer before installation! Furthermore, the original location was around the stadium not on some walkway 100 yards away.

Take the blinkers off. A spade is a spade and this is a big one.

The point I was mainly disagreeing with was your comment about not being able to sell 35,000. If you thought that why did you buy two in the first place ?

Tbh I'm not really mithered about the design or the location as long as my disk is there with the words I asked for and it is located within the etihad campus, but I respect that is personal choice and I don't expect everyone to agree with my stance on it.

By the way some of you may have heard that Arsenal have copied the idea so I would say our marketing dept and club are leading the way again.
I think our marketing dept are light years ahead of some of our fans on here and I have every confidence that this will be a huge success. It's the ability to visualise the effect that is lacking by some people

I printed a certificate at the time. When I said I hadn't heard anything, I meant regarding this total change to the whole idea.
If I've not had this email soon, I will be chasing them up.

As you say each to their own. Fortunately I didn't have to make that kind of choice. I've (hopefully) got many hundreds of games to go to, this is a one off piece of history, to have something permanent and your own small piece of the club at the stadium that highlights what City means to you. Clearly, that's meaningless to you and who am I to argue with how you feel about it.

Just to reiterate, I think it's fantastic and am looking forward to seeing my own disk in place.

Just to reiterate - I'm with you. I've got 3 BTW and glad to be part of the history. However, I appreciate that some don't ...

I think that this is very much a case of 'each to their own', I didn't buy one, nor would I ever have any intention of doing. However, I don't get why some are fussed about the 'relocation'?

It surely stands to reason that the idea of having the discs round the stadium will be impacted either in part or in full by future redevelopment of the stadium and will therefore have to be moved elsewhere.

It's not been moved miles away, merely a few hundred yards at most and to somewhere that won't be impacted by development.

The only mistake that the club made was to not foresee future expansion when this was originally planned.

not bringing the tone down blingy i lost both parents last year and me and 2 sisters have bought one for them im not really bothered where it is as long as i can see it at the stadium and as you say its a lot more pleasant than a graveside

Bet Christmas was fun in your house!

Aren't the discs stainless steel? I know some are bronze and some a mix but don't think they are plastic?

I was gonna buy my son and myself one, but will have to wait until I get some work again. Hope it will be soon enough.

I had a look at based on their figures around 7,800 would have been needed for the first verse which is the first phase, although the correct proportion of the 3 types would need to be sold.

As this was due last year and the site only mentions 2 words now on the site, this would probably need 800 in the same size, however my guess is that the letters will be bigger than the original plan.
