City condemn racist abuse of Rico Lewis by Sevilla fans | Paltry €5k fined issued by UEFA (p7)

Completely disgraceful behaviour from a bunch of Neanderthal morons. Honestly, what century do these uneducated pricks live in. Hope Rico and his family arnt overly perturbed by this shocking shite. We, as a City family should wrap him up and show him we don’t prescribe to this complete nonsense. Rico is one of us. We are all as one Blue family. Our only colour Is sky blue. Go onRico, fuck these idiots right off. Your blue brothers are with you.

Maybe UEFA fines are proportionate with the clubs financial means, which would be understandable. But they should at least go hand in hand with meaningful sanctions, which would be the real deterrent.

If this is a general problem with Spanish clubs, as is being suggested on here, it might just be a matter of time until Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico fans are caught doing the same thing. So banning clubs or having empty stadia isn't exactly a precedent they want to set.

It’s not a problem restricted to Spanish clubs. It’s a problem across most of Southern Europe and all of Eastern Europe. Only trouble with trying to educate is the majority don’t even consider that it may be wrong. I remember hearing from one of the guys who blacked up at the Grand Prix that time and was abusing Lewis Hamilton. He was genuinely totally flummoxed as to what the issue was.
