City fan, 63, attacked by Brugge fans | Invited to Etihad by club (p 27)

Well we don't know what happened, so lets stop the hypothetical stuff please. If someone could have stepped in from that group and didn't, fair enough but it could have been over in a second, nothing anyone can do about that. The definition of a bystander is someone who was present but had nothing to do with what happened.
I'd like to think that any of the group not involved would have been on the phone to the Ambulance service then straight on to the cops to name the bastards.

If not over in a second or not they're no bystander and deserve the same sentence as whoever threw the punch(es).

It may have been a one punch attack which was over in a flash. They will probably be charged with affray, or equivalent, and the attacker something more serious. We don’t know the full details yet but fair play for apprehending them so quickly.
It’s unlikely to be a one punch assault if it was a targeted attack by a group of 5.

Hope Guido makes a full recovery.

It’s just as likely as any other potential scenario. Until more information is disclosed we’re all just speculating.
Not really mate. Occasionally, you get the one punch fatalities or serious injuries but devastating injuries are usually from sustained attacks.

I have friends who are great people but when the Blue was beaten senseless by Schalke thugs, they said he probably provoked it. If it was a Schalke fan or in this case a Bruges supporter seriously injured, they would have been up in arms even though they are died in the wool blues. Sometimes people’s politics don’t allow them to see the wood from the trees.
