First of all, i'm not one of the "bring back the birch brigade" and i go to plenty of away games and know how things are,but thieving is low down. Plain and simple. The place that got done over was a little corner shop. Lets say the four lads involved each robbed a six pack, that's the best part of £25. That could well be a couple of hours work for the sole trader who owns the place. Bang out of order. I just can't understand how people can defend it as being just a bit of fun and the nobs involved as being good lads who follow city everywhere. So what. I can only assume that those involved are kids or don't work for a living. To steal someone's livelihood is pretty shitty. If they are such "good lads" lets hope they had the decency to feel throughly ashamed come Monday and refund the shopkeeper.

Well, if everyone paid their taxes & didn't do backhanders or partake in the black market then it wouldn't have been 25 quid, it would have been a lot less.Flixton blue said:Just got to this thread and it's fuckin' depressing. I'd also lay a bet that our owners have "taken advantage" of various tax laws in effect throughout the world - maybe we should start a campaign to ban them from City?
We all commit crimes - for the most part we just don't get to see the victims. If we get caught then we pay our dues. There are certain crimes that we would morally not commit - murder, paedophilia or even worse, being a rag.
We have a 20+ page thread arguing about our own moral compasses. As previously mentioned, we need to envoke Godwins law - Hitler was also a bad man but he made the trains run on time (now, if he had found a solution to traffic congestion then the coach would have been able to get away & there would be no need for us to waste our time discussing this shit!).
Football hooliganism still goes on, ok not the pitched battles fought on football pitches of the 70's, but it still goes on. I am not asking for anyone to be hung, thrown out of the club or any such thing. I am just stating that I believe that people on here think it is ok to steal. hat's your issue with that.m27 said:Breadsnapper said:The point I am making is that people actually think it is OK to steal. It is OK to take away their way of earning a living. What sort of twisted morals do you have? A grading system for crime? Shoplifting from ASDA ohh that's a 1 coz it's a big company, shoplifting from a corner shop ooh that's a 3 and so on and so on. Absolutely laughable.
If you notice my posts I haven't called for anyone to be banned from the club, as it is nothing to do with football.
I just can't understand and never will understand when it became acceptable to 1. steal and 2. justify such actions.
I know I said I wouldn't post anymore on this but......
Check my posts. At no point do I say it's ok to steal.
What I object to, and always object to on here, is the wailing and gnashing of teeth when anything is posted which is off the straight and narrow.
We've had people being branded as racists for singing about the size of Ade's knob; people jump down people's throat at the slightest hint of a joke in bad taste; only last week we had the ridiculous views of some regarding an ironic banner and now we have this.
I have always taken a 'laissez faire' atitude to life and it has done me well. It takes allsorts to make the world go round and although I won't condone theft, I won't get on my high horse about some young lads on a beano (pun intended) ballooning and getting in trouble.
Those lads will have to face the consequences of their actions. Not you, or anyone else on this thread who wasn't there. You aren't going to get batton charged at Wigan because of what happened. No-one will think worse of YOU because of what happened. So why can't you just shake your head and move on?
You suggested that the incident and this thread was a reflection of how society had "degenerated". On the contrary, far far worse than this used to happen on a regular basis before and after matches years ago so that argument really doesn't stand up.

So you're saying that certain crimes are unquestionably immoral though others, robbing a hardworking bloke for instance are perfectly moral? Absolute bollocks.

No, you're the one saying that, but I agree, you are talking absolute bollocks.
