all I know is that when I stood on the Kippax there was always a fair amount of Dundee,Hearts and Rangers fans and a lot of City fans sang the Sash etc

Celtic fans supported Man U or latterly Liverpool
Rangers supported Chelsea or City

sweeping I know

Celtic fans Support Celtic

Rangers fans support Rangers.

Anything else is pretty sad.

Amongst 3000 people there will be many different political and religious views held, some more extreme than others. Drunken football fans don't tend to be backwards coming forwards with their views. Don't condone it, but like an earlier poster said, it seems that after every away game someone comes on having been shocked or outraged by a song sung or the actions of other blues. Some of these songs could be construed as offensive to some, and are probably sung by ignorant fuckwits, but I dread the day when football supporters start behaving like politically correct robots.

I mostly agree with you but why don't the clowns sing CITY songs instead of politically/religiously motivated shite that has nothing to do with football.

For what it's worth with reference to someone's comment that City are a "proddy club" earlier in this thread.

The straw poll gave us 9 catholics and 8 protestants.

Then it was hijacked by the pompous and self important, who didn't believe it was a question which should be asked.

Protestants outnumber catholics by about 3:1 in this country (I assume Manchester is about the same, although the number of Irish immigrants may swing that figure a little)

Therefore the admittedly tiny straw poll shows we are in fact a club with a disproportionately large number of catholics!!!!!!!!

By the way, before any more of the pedants start on me, I am a resolute aethiest.

But, this has nothing to do with religion !!! And as already mentioned, only those who support(ed) the IRA should take offence. Surely all good Catholics should be against terrorism, same as any other walks of life !!

The slogan "No Surrender" actually dates back to the siege of Londonderry in 1689 when Irish and French armies tried to starve the British peope.

Indeed, an event that happened over 300 years ago as part of a power struggle for the British throne prompted in part by religious intolerance. Remind me what this has to do with Manchester City FC.
