City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

The way I look at it, it's my only regular hobby and I spend a lot of money going to games. Why would you want to cut that short? Sometimes question whether I love it as much as in previous years, but sometimes sit there on 70 mins and think 'I don't wanna go home'. There's no other outlet like it in my opinion.

I left early couple of seasons ago when Villa played us off the park under Sherwood, and equalised 2-2. I was so angry with Fernando, was half way out the ground before I realised I'd walked out lol. Got to the bottom of the spiral and Fernandinho had won it. So never again, despite any result. I will always clap those players off after the full 90 minutes.

Part timer lol

I think we just have to accept that there are loads at the match that are not that in to the club and supporting the players. Cracks me up when you get the excuse for leaving early that they've got a long journey home. If you got motivated enough to make the long journey in the first place surely it's not too much to put a bit more time on it to get home.

There a few near me who leave early that have been watching City religiously for 40+ years.

I almost always stay until the end. The last time I left early was when Leicester scored their third against us last season. I watched the rest of the match in Mary D's with a Blue from Marple who'd befriended me on the way out. We chatted for a minute and ended up going for a pint!

Left early twice in all the years of going, Tottenham 0-0 a boring winter game in the mid seventies. My mate was frozen and went at half time, I stayed until about 80mins but the thought of sitting in a warm bus got the better of me. The other time was when Scholes got the last minute winner a couple of years back because I couldn't face the gloating from that lot. So, I don't get the leaving bit at all. I sit almost on the end of a row and it's the same old faces every game that want to squeeze past at the 88th minute.

Bloke with a boy - about 10. Sat in front of me at the Arsenal game. Arrived 25 minutes into the game, left 5 minutes before half time, got back 15 mins into the second half and then left on 85 minutes. Probably watched less than half the game - a bit like Wenger.

Until the carpark problems are solved then the early leavers will continue. There will always be the few who must leave early for work or personal reasons in every differant home game . But I'd better the majority of them are trying to beat the jam leaving around the ground until that is sorted it will continue and most likely get worse

I'll bet if we are 5-0 up against the Rags no-one will be thinking about avoiding the traffic.

....which is why I park up past Vermillion.. 15/20 walk from the ground after the final whistle and home in another 25 minutes. Its free and a stress free way to park. As a test one day I parked in the Asda for a fiver and was still stuck in the car park at the end for well over an hour later.. Kids used to moan about the walk after the match but not anymore.. Free 40 minutes exercise as well for the healthy conscious..

the majority of people dont park in the stadium car park though. unless you have a reason, i.e. elderly, disabled ..... then i have no idea why you would park there. you can park 5 minutes down the road, pay less and get out of the etihad easy. i park at ashburys train station and get out no problem. the stadium car park is a nightmare to try and drive out of.
