Tom, I don't want to fall out with you (or any other blue on here, we're are after all, all on the same side) but your attitude stinks.
Nothing can be achieved without enthusiasm. Do you think Pep would be at the top of his field if he had your energy/testosterone levels.
You're not being asked to turn up to game bare chested, carrying a twelve foot inflatable banana and initiate every chant, but if you could be a bit less tepid and even dare I say it, show some enthusiasm, that would be great.
Turn up in time to cheer the team on, cheer them off (win, lose or draw) and in between try being a little encouraging by clapping your hands when everybody else does.
C'mon City!
Tom, as a 20 odd year season ticket holder who occasionally left early for work and now live in another country (Australia) I can say when I'm sat here trying to persuade Bruce in the local or my family that we are the best team in the world (or even the UK) its pretty hard when the ground looks like a morgue come the 80th minute. In fact its pretty embarrassing when you've spent hours boring them to death about the atmosphere in the Kippax or the old North stand. Its obviously everyones right to leave when they want but as an 'outsider' it doesn't look good.
I agree with your thoughts, what I am trying to get across is whatever you say/do if people are wanting to leave early they will, simple. I'm not saying your wrong but it has always been this way, when we was shit and now when we are good.
Basically I don't see why people get so angry/upset/sensitive and stressed about something you can't possibly change. Use that energy into your own support.
I also think it's a bit harsh people slate these people, if it wasn't for them it would be half empty for 90 mins, we don't have a big enough fan base/support to pick and choose who we want following us.
All that would be worth dealing with to see the winning goal....surelyThe club are culpable to an extent in this (sorry if posted) because the exit strategy from the stadium and surrounding roads is shambolic... I am in 315 at present and did miss the goal BUT hear me out...
The alternative is waiting till the final whistle before joining a queue of thousands trying to get out of single exits at the foot of the new stand (why didn't they add some mid-stand?) following which there is a downright dangerous exit via a single set of double doors at each side of the stand which are a significant H&S risk for sure... God help us if there was a real emergency as people would be crushed I'm sure of it! Whoever designed that door / entry / exit system from SST3 is utterly clueless....
Once I am free from the ground I then have to get to the car (parking at the velodrome recently as it's the shortest wait time IF I leave early enough) then join the masses en route to the M60.
The club and local authority should agree a contraflow system for the half hour after the final whistle then the surrounding roads wouldn't be gridlocked...
Not rocket science and if they improved these things the crowd might not be diluted so much

Course it can change. Not all teams fans leave so early.
If we had a set of fans that didn’t leave till full time and backed the players for the full 90mins it would only help the team.
Why would any City fan not want to help the team in any small way they can?
Let's agree to differ and not fall out.
People harking back to the old days when we were always brilliant are romanticising the past. In the past we had days when we were brilliant and days when we were shite; just like now, which is unsurprising since it's largely the same people (albeit a bit fatter, greyer, balder, older).
But I think it can change. If knob heads like me keep moaning about it on here, and keep trying to make a difference inside the stadium, it can be done.
Look at the 1894 group, they're trying to make a difference. If in 2 or 3 years we have a really vibrant singing section and more people around the ground can be persuaded to join in the problem has been solved. We're only trying to get a bit of an atmosphere inside the stadium, can't be that hard.
Said many times it just looks embarasing 10 min to go and the ground half empty we want the best players they want to play to packed crowds .yesterday there was hundreds of hundreds empty seats before the game started
All that would be worth dealing with to see the winning goal....surely
