City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

It's a decent attendance because frankly it's a 2nd rate trophy that we place more emphasis on as fans than it deserves. Bristol city at home after 2 games in a week is not that enticing. We got 30000 against West Ham in 14. It's live on TV, 3rd game in a week at home, kids are at school and it's the first leg which always gets less.
36,000 in the 2012 Liverpool semi , tonight was an ok crowd , wont stop the haters though , funny how 40,000 empty seats at Spurs V Wham barely gets a mention.

I saw the first Barcelona home game after the Christmas break a couple of days ago and was amazed to see the ground about half full. I wonder what the Barca fans had to say about that...maybe they don't even bother discussing it....have no idea and maybe it's no big deal for their fans.

Yeah the Liverpool game was ridiculously over priced.

Everton was the best but only because it was 2nd leg and the game was in the balance.

It's something and nothing but they haven't got much to beat us with this season so this will rest its ugly head as it always does

We've been in a lot of League Cup semi finals over the last 6/7 years and it s always a hard sell. Even more so now the stadium has been expanded. It's the same for a lot of midweek games actually - the West Brom midweek game at the end of the month will be another one for the seat counters.

56k I believe, and looked a lot less, maybe they do same as us and go on tickets sold.

Never leave early ever unless we are a few goals up and have something planned. Anyone who missed tonight through leaving early you deserve it. We didn’t play well tonight but got a great win in the end.

4/5 games now this season people have left and missed the money shot.

I can never get my head round spending between 2 hours and X hours of your day traveling & watching the match and then buggering off just before the climax.

Before I get loads of.... I save 90 mins getting home going 5 mins early etc yes it's everyone's individual choice but I refer to my first paragraph.

Frankly embarrassing stuff. Its a semi-final of a trophy and hardly anyone was bothered to come at £25 (£15 in some areas!!).

How many times must Pep and mancity beg us to show up??

I know this won’t be universally popular .For me there are just too many games around this time in the winter, many of them played on week nights and with TV coverage and streaming, lots of folk will just decide its easier/cheaper to watch elsewhere. Loads of games in the cold and dark at one of the most expensive and time pressured parts of the year, makes it difficult for many.

No you are pretty much on the money there not everyone can afford to go to every game and the expense of everything last month won't have helped

Where are all the tourists when you need them ? Loads of old school Blues have stopped going for a variety of reasons and this is the result .The clyb concentrate on the tunnle club and such like but only pay lip service to the ordinary fan .once people get used to not going they wont sudenly turn up for night games on a cold miserable evening .

I tried to get tickets for last night on the website last week. No option on website, I came on here and people were saying it was sold out. Which made sense when you couldn't get them on the website. Then I find there are 10000 empty seats. Slightly annoying. I've not had this problem before.

Yep, shambles of a ticket office, poorly managed, heads should roll !!

That’s right blame the club for the fact that people can’t be arsed to go to the game. Can’t think of any other top 6 club that would charge anything like as low prices as we do. And slagging off the club’s commercial activity, which has been a big part of our financial improvement, which in turn gets us fantastic players, isn’t that fucking clever either

Do people want us to be like the rags and force season card holders to be in the cup scheme?

I guess not... so what is the point of worrying about this... some people can’t afford so many games.. some people can’t be arsed, some can’t make it for genuine reasons...

Pointless revisiting this ad Infinitum for me...

As for the press and opposition fans.. haters gonna hate..

We simply need a means of allocating seats last minute for low prices or even free if a paying card holder is a no-show... fill up the ground from a queue like theatres do (with some time restraints clearly to allow for traffic etc...)

It's January, it is cold as fuck, it was a schoolnight, we are competing well in 4 competitions, Xmas bills have arrived, it was live on telly. I like that this shows we have proper fans who are proper people. It is a total non issue that only those who dont like us are interested in anyway

Why am I a knob ? I learnt my lesson in 99 leaving wembley early (thankfully I got back in) but after that day vowed I would never leave a game early again , look at how many fans left early against qpr , why would you spend £25 + on a ticket and leave early ? I know its not a comparision but would you leave a gig , film , theatre with 20 odd minutes till the end ?
Ditto. To the letter.
