City & Feyenord fans

How's tricks pal ? :-)

Quite true I did openly encourage a lot af Dutch fans to come and watch City. Although there were a hand full going before I met them namely Angelo who had big links with the Feyenoord and their "crew". Also alot of links with Antwerp.

The guy started going early nineties, met a bird from Maccelsfield and she took him to a City game when we as a club were at our lowest point and he just felt the City love and the humour of our support come win, lose or draw. This guy got the City crest tattooed across the whole of his back Feyenoord and City through and through.

Nowadays it's Michel who has the bigger connection with the City faithful and quite a few go to City games on a regular basis. Alot of them sporting city tattoos.

One of the people to blame is Mad Ferret (Ian). Ive known angelo and michel for quite along time now maybe 15 years or so , and yes top blues so are all the lads they bring from feyenoord dennis and paddy etc... they do have a connection with lads from antwerp ( bjorn , wacko , gorba , bart ) and they also attend city games from time to time . Theres been friends from lokeren , racing mechelen, anderlecht and beerschott from time to time also. Been over to both feyenoord & antwerp games with numerous blues, been made very welcome at both grounds great supporters. Top weekends can highly recommend them ......!

Ian used to run the Dutch MCFC supporters branch at the end of the 90s, and as he was based in Dordrecht he came into contact with many Feyenoord fans. Feyenoord fans used to accompany Ian on some of his trips to the UK to watch City.
City supporters used to watch games at The Boozer in Dordrecht with the local Feyenoord taking an interest with City as their second team.

Feyenoord lads have been coming over for years and have a great friendship with both antwerp and some city supporters. They travel to watch city at home and also in europe . Was last with these guys at the dortmund game, mixture of feyenoord and and beerschott fans from antwerp. They are top lads , ive been a guest of theres to a few Feyenoord games and always made more than welcome. They hate the scum with a passion..... ! Some city have had connections with teams in holland and belgium for over 6 or 7 years now long may it continue had some great weekends over there with our pals.

I know the feyenoord guys they are sound been over to the de kuip stadium a few times, great atmosphere . Think the dutch lads are coming over for the newcastle game in march, keep a look out for their city / feyenoord flag top quality.

Haven't Feyenoord had a friendship/link with Sunderland? I'm sure I read that somewhere online a few months ago.
That's right. Just a friendship and not a professional club link. Both Sunderland and Rotterdam are port cities and a lot of Sunderland guys work in Rotterdam but live in Sunderland. A lot of Feyenoord fans work in the harbor and have build up good friendships with these Sunderland guys over the last 15 years or so. The group is called Feyenoord Mackems.

Feyenoord also have good friendships with Ayr United (Scotland) and Cardiff.

Went to a game in Ijmuiden a few years ago versus Sparta Rotterdam and the Ijmuiden fans had a banner with Sunderland on it,big port near the Dam.

There isnt a friendship with Feyenoord Fans in general , but started with a select few who have been coming over for more than 10 / 12 years.
They first started coming over in the late 90's and just recently a new and younger element from feyenoord have started to attend games through this connection. There is a small amount of blues who do travel to Rotterdam for the occasional Feyenoord game . the same few also have links with fans from some Belgium clubs.

Which Belgian clubs?

Any body going to Maastricht ( Holland ) call next door to Kanne ( Belgium )

The owner of the hotel on the main street is Willy Brokamp .

Google "Willy Brokamp" you will see he played for Ajax and the Dutch national team ( number 8 i think ) the same time as Jahann Cruff .

Willy is a great man to talk to .

Also the cafe bar next door is run my Vic and Edily , another great place .

Many of the Teenagers in the village where City shirts , freebies from me .

The owner of the Chippy in Kanne again Willy mad mad Standard Leige supporter but ALLWAYS asks after City .

Also my bank manager in Riemst ( Paul ) wears a city shirt .

The owner of the big newsagents between Riemst and Masstricht all ask after City .

Mention City David !! they all know me very well .

Had a great time in Maastricht when we played in Sittard early 90s,great city
