The 49m restriction is it for this window and January ?

49m for both windows or is it 49m for each window, and when does the restriction end ?

Pretty sure the 49m is for the whole season

And im also pretty sure that its a two season cap

Both windows combined... that's 49m across both windows.
However, we can increase that with player sales. It's 49m net.

I think a few people have questioned if that means 49m actual outlay, or if you can buy a player for 49m over 5 years, and call it 10 million this year. However, I believe it means the actual amount you commit to (regardless of over how long, or if agents are getting 5 million of it etc). Otherwise, it could turn into another fiasco of buying a player for 10 million but paying 40 million on top for his image rights or his training home in Florida etc.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I think it's two seasons, yes, but 1 year suspended (without googling to look it up).

The theory is, that IF we are telling the truth / are right, and we'll break even this season (to UEFA's satisfaction), then the second year sanctions won't happen.

Essentially they've punished us 'full whack' but if we do as we've promised, we'll not have to serve / pay the full whack.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

if were only allowed to spend 49m next 2 season are we allowed to carry money over???????? (spend 29m this season 69m next)

Not sure. The wording might state explicitly 'a max of 49m per season' if that's the case, then no. I suspect that's what it will say, but I don't know for certain.

What a strange thing to post...

Besides we can be €20 million in arrears this year and €10 million next.

It's £49 million NET for the year and no, you can't take leftover money over into next year. There's also no clever little getouts like paying part now and part next year.
UEFA say the transfer cap is for 2 seasons regardless whereas City believe we'll be clear of sanctions after this season so who's correct nobody knows.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Didn't realise these sanctions are repeated next summer. Are they really? That would be ridiculous IMO but UEFA's blatant attempt to stall our progress would make it unsurprising. We just have to hope our players maintain their level and major investment isn't needed next summer. UEFA are probably pissed at how well we seem to be maneuvering around our limits, signing good talents while staying in the boundaries. But it restricts us if we really want to go for a world class marquee signing.

I think you're reading too much into the 'telling the truth' part.
It's simply 'if it turns out to be true / correct'. If we fail, then we will have not told the truth (which isn't a deliberate lie, just an incorrect prediction).

It's not so much 'repeated' as a two year sanction. But if we break even this year (as we should) then the sanctions are relaxed. Depends how you want to look at it, but it's not a double whammy for failing to break even next year, it's just we won't get it reduced unless we do break even.

this thread is going into one of its time loops again. I clearly remember a consensus forming that the £49m nett cap was for this window only, based on the OS statement and lack of any challenge to its accuracy from the UEFA nasties.
