City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Cheapest ticket I could get for a five year old for the Hull game last year was £27.

The club have done great things, we have a fantastic team and we have all benefited from it.

But that can't be right. Both of mine want to go to matches, but I refuse to pay that much.

Was not sure weather to start a new thread on this
Its something I feel very strongly on .on any thread on ticket prices we only ever see adult £57 etc tickets mentioned never kids.
Think people are unaware what city are doing with kids pricing structure
The timeline might be a year or so out but we as a family became match goers again about 5 seasons ago
The policy for kids was then free membership and a game before Xmas and a game after Xmas for £5
We then went through a period when most games were either £5 or £10 for kids and £20 for me
This season realistically to get 3 tickets together we would need 3 memberships .kids price around £25 16 year old price £34 adult £45 ish
Please feel free to call me cynical but why the hell don't city want my kids anymore .when they have got 12,000 new seats to fill.
I don't get as excited as some on these great financial s as a jump from £5 to £25 means far more to me and our family budget

Yeah. They should let your kids in for free. After all, why should City charge fans to watch great football by superb players just because other clubs do (with far less exciting players of course).
Let's ignore the fact the club needs to cover costs. Indeed, let's forget FFP & Champions League football. Much better to be back in Div 2 & pay what we used to then.
it is really important to get kids going, they want the kits, the want the posters, they want the food they want a drink,,,,and most importantly they are our future, ive got kids and all you hear is I want I want ,keep kids tickets cheap and the kids will keep coming
City have taken the piss with the kids pricing structue this last 2 ? Seasons and miss the point completly that dad pays not the kids.if dad don't go neither do the kids .city is a business just like McDonald s etc everything goes up each year I get that but has your burger meal that cost £5 2 years ago gone up to £34 has it F##k and if it had would you still buy it ???

Agreed 100% city tempted us back in with their great pricing for the kids they now don't want that kid they want the £57 adult in that seat.that's fine but guess in 12 months time who they will want in that seat on a Monday night v west brom on sky.the same kid that's now taken up judo .motocross running etc .we need to be attracting our next generation to fill those 12,000 new seats.
Reminds me of the pub trade
Whys the pub empty making no money ?
Let's put the prices up
Whys the pub empty making no money ?
Let's put the prices up
Why's the pub shut ?
People found other things to do with their time and money !!!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I heard on the radio that Hull City are being investigated as they are thought to have fallen foul of the FFP regulations, now this may be where the tide of public opinion starts to change. If a club like Hull can be sanctioned sfter their moderate spend but the rags can spend what they are then people will see how this rule protects the so called big clubs.

admittedly the rags cant fail FFP until they aspire to Hulls level and get European football so it isn't like for like.

however it will make people think, basically they are being told that now they have got Europa football they sre going to be stopped investing so they cant threaten CL.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope. If the public are thick enough to believe these rules are for the good of the game then a triviality like Hull being investigated certainly won't set off the alarm bells.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Nothing particularly new in this article from Duncan Castles, but there definitely seems a be a ground swell of anti-FFP sentiment in the media, which we didn't see originally. I think the penny is finally dropping with people:

I think this will start clubs realising what ffp is really all aboutit also could mean some clubs would pull out of the europa league, almost guaranteed if the fines are bigger than the cash they would make. ffp days must be numbered.

Yes, there is a ground swell, yes the penny is dropping... Sadly all this after City have carried the can. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Others have seen what damage could be done, unfortunately for UEFA, we were too cute for them, however, others are now looking on and thinking, we need to object and protest else we may get fleeced.

Very sad.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

To be fair quite a few journos went into bat for as when we got the penalty. A few unexpected ones as well.
