Seeing how after months of debate on here hasn't really ended in a definitive answer, signing bony for 30 mil plus is surely a massive risk regarding the spending cap. Particularly if UEFA deem our figure for Mangala to be incorrect which they might. Basically betting everything on it being done yearly and not by season. Given how elastic a definition UEFA have left themselves to work with, that is a massive risk.
Why on earth would UEFA do that? Because some bitter little opposing fan on another forum wrote it and it got repeated?
Even UEFA know better than that.

ADUG surely were aware that UEFA were untrustworthy when they agreed the compromise fine ?
If our legal team have not got the detail completely sorted they need to be sacked.

Surely both sides are absolutely certain what can or cannot be done and there is no need to publish anything other than the apparently elastic resume.

If it's still being debated then that's a clear indication that most are posting information based on perception/opinion.

I'd stop worrying and enjoy the football, one day it will all be over one way or the other.

Why on Earth would they do that?!

Do we know if the FFP restrictions stop Bony playing in the knockout rounds?

Fast strong Drogba-style players have done well against Barcelona in the past...

It's my understanding that we would have to drop one of the foreigners.

If Nastasic ends up going to Schalke for 10 and the Negredo money comes in at the end of the season 24m? Then the fee is covered through player sales.

+ some dosh for Guidetti and Sinclair, about £5m combined.

How does FFP really work with transfer fees? Is it based on the headline figure, eg £32m for Mangala, or is it based on how his fee is paid to his former club, eg £8m per year for four years? I don't know the exact figures or the means of payment, I only ask regarding the principle that is applied as FFP to one person in authority might mean something entirely different to another similarly in a position of authority.

How and when you pay doesn't matter, it's how much the deal us for that matters.

That said, there's a standard way of accounting for intangible assets such as footballers, and that is to spread the cost over the duration of the contract. So if a player is bought for say £15m and signs on a 3 year contract, you take an expense of £5m per year in your accounts. Note this has nothing to do with when you pay the selling club.
