City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

They do make a specific claim that losses relating to MCFC have been reported elsewhere and are not included in City's accounts

Two subsidiary companies, City Football Marketing Ltd and City Football Services Ltd, had operating expenses — or costs, including wages — of £36.7m in the year to May 2014, and posted combined losses of £25.9m. Most of their business was done effectively on behalf of Manchester City.

Are those the costs associated with the City Football Group. When the report says most of their business was done effectively on behalf of MCFC, that's quite an ambiguous statement. Are they saying that costs directly incurred by MCFC are being put through the books of another company, o are they just saying that costs incurred by the overseas groups related to City were booked through City Football Group? The allegations are too imprecise, and therefore I think it's just mud slinging. If I was a journalist and had something I'd really make my case, this tory doesn't. It just leaves you with questions about their story. But we are biased, and sometimes don't see the wood for the trees

I am not an accountant, and freely admit to knowing next to nothing about the ins and outs of football finance.

I have full and complete confidence that the club will not fall foul of any underhanded accounting practices. A) because it would be a cluster fuck of truly monumental proportions to be "found out" and then failing ffp for the second year running. And B) because as others have mentioned our accounts are signed off by professional and long standing accountancy organisations.

That said, so were Tesco's accounts, and we all now know that they were not above board and are being investigated by the SFO.

If, and I stress the word "if" however, the club were to fail FFP again this year (highly highly doubtful I agree), then very serious questions would need to be asked of Sorriano and Bergiristain. Questions that would probably result in them leaving the club.

Even more reason to hope nothing comes of it.

I'm not an agenda-ist but there must be a reason the Muslim-owned Manchester City seem to get so much negative press in the uk media.

The thing is, it's probably about 99.99% certain we have done nothing wrong and will sail through FFP this year and subsequent years. But these drip drip drip of stories with negative connotations serve to instill in people's minds that "those City fellas are bent and trying to win dishonestly" over time which must surely have an effect on our longer term ability to attract decent exposure for our sponsors.

It really gets my goat. It's so bloody obvious why they hate us.

At one time I used to brush it off and say fuck `em.However its becoming more and more apparent that we are now the most hated club in the media`s eyes. Thanks to Martin Samuel though,as he`s the one ray of light in all this shite.

You're spot on about Samuel.
Even when he criticises city, he does it fairly and puts his points across intelligently.

He won't be long for the DM. He isn't a racist, xenophobic prick.

It's all hypothetical nonsense, of course, but to suggest there will ever be a scenario that leaves Khaldoon "clinging to a job" represents a ridiculous misunderstanding of how the upper echelons of City work.

Khaldoon is one of Mansour's closest confidantes, and a billionaire and major player in his own right. He is far more important than just City's Chairman to Abu Dhabi.

City & FFP (continued)

. This is not some cooking of the books or smoke and mirrors trickery which this journalist has highlighted. Happens all the time and nothing will of course be done about it. The first thing that stuck out on the accounts was the reduction in staff costs because of the centralisation of various employees. It's obvious to anyone within about 5 seconds.

Some of these very staff are in New York right now working on NYC stuff it is of course logical that they are employed by CFG. Standard business practice. Nothing to see here and nothing for anyone to worry about.

As you say its all hypothetical. My point being that if there was anything proved correct with the allegations, then IMO it just wouldn`t be Sorriano and Bergiristain at fault,as the "buck" usually stops with the top man at the club and any organisations.

Eufa don't care about the religion or politics, they are law unto themselves.
This is about City threatening the status quo, and our declared, achievable aims of becoming all that's been promised.
Eufa have employed David Gill who has a direct agenda to scrutinise every move we make, and stall our progress at every turn.
I know a guy who looked after the scums finances, who told me that even when we were shite, they were aware of our potential and were paranoid about us even then.
That's what we are up against, nothing to do with religion
