Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, West Ham, Norwich, Stoke, Newcastle, Sunderland, Wigan and QPR.

So,by voting in favour, what was the advantage to the above clubs?
Sometimes, turkeys really do vote for Christmas.

Not for the current owners, means they can just get the profits and don't have to invest, nor could anyone below them threaten that by investing. Just have to already own a PL club and its profit for life so long as no one can improve above you anymore.

The moronic fans however...

3 of them got relegated ? QPR are in danger of doing it twice, Wigan in danger of going a level lower still, while Norwich have a chance of the play offs.

Of the rest, arsenal like to be 4th, spurs 5th, everton 6-8th, and the rest yoyo in between relegation and mid table.

ie not much

United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool threatened to break away and negotiate their own TV rights deals - that is the main reason it went through.

Just tried to go on Daniel Taylor's Twitter and it seems I'm blocked from viewing it ! Anyone else having the same issue
Just you bobette
Dont understand why he'd block me since I don't think I've ever spoke a word to him.

Sir Jack Hayward RIP

Wouldn't happen today of course and Wolves would go out of business.

The very idea that an owner should put his own money into his club - ludicrous and should be banned.

It's probably just your reputation preceding you.

BTW, I can get in with no problems either.

Maybe deleting your history will help (it certainly can't hurt).

Were Reading the club that abstained?. How could you abstain - a simple yes or no was asked for.?. now they are in the Championship.- and they changed owners.

Some one mentioned the ex wolves owner, jack Hayward, who passed away today.

He bought the club for £10 (presumably cleared shit loads of debt) and then then put £50m of his own cash into the club, ok they didn't reap any sort of success out of it but they had a few bashes at the prem and have a great ground now and his legacy in that respect lives on.
When he sold the club (for a tenner, got his money back ha ha) to Steve Morgan he insisted that £30m (the actual value of the club) was invested into wolves to sustain them and keep them afloat rather than receive it himself.

What a guy!!! But sadly such kind acts have now been outlawed. Absolutely fucking bonkers!!!

Unfortunately past performance is no guarantee of success in the future as MUFC found last season and the likes of Tesco and Morrisons in another sector are finding now.

Having the balance sheet resources to try to rectify the situation is the phase Utd are currently undergoing but it is proving expensive and cash draining for its owners.

Whatever the motives of the others who voted for it, some are finding that the rule may not always suit their changing circumstances and any attempt to rectify this urgently contravenes the very rule they voted for.

Others as posted earlier saw it as a means to retain ownership of their club without having to find high new player cash.
