City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Thanks, I assume that those are later than the original PDF last June ?

By the way I'm not arguing that we will still be restricted, I don't follow it like many do, we have people far better qualified on here, I was just saying that I can understand why some are still a little sceptical that we can spend whatever we want.

Our spending will be "net" anyway, and I expect people to be moved out for decent fee's, so while we might spend "£200M" (aim high eh ?), the net figure will be much less than that.

I think we are free, but as Khaldoon has said, we may be free of restriction, but they want their CFG clubs to be profitable, so our signings will be balanced by outgoings and the expected growth in revenue. He's also already prepped us for some outgoings of previously key players, so it will be a squad overhaul this summer.

So basically, any team under sanctions from previous FFP failure will have to serve said sanctions before the 'relaxing' of FFP can apply to them?
Seems fair to me. It would be a pisstake if, despite failing to live up to the agreed sanctions, PSG could suddenly take advantage of whatever loosening of FFP is going to occur.
We've lived up to our end of the bargain in terms of sanctions so we should be fine this summer and in turn in the future when FFP is 'relaxed' (which I suspect won't come into effect for at least a year from now)

That's pretty much how I saw his comments, I also don't want us just waving money at it forever, we need to be self sustainable (just in case the sheik gets bored ;o) ).

Thanks, its this one, but its a year old (UEFA move goal posts like FIFA officials move money), and it still doesn't make it clear that we're free from restrictions on transfers if we "break even".

It does say we're free from "wage restrictions" if we break even, and that we're free from "squad restrictions" if we break even. It also says we get some of the "fine" back.

However is open to debate, which is why people (rightly) don't trust UEFA.

I assume from his end of season sound bites that Khaldoon is comfortable that we have broken even (it would be surprise if we hadn't).

The proof of the pudding will be who we buy, and who we sell.
All true (as far as that piece of fluff goes) but perhaps we've agreed to significantly limit spending this summer to £150mill net?

we'll only be spending our own revenues, imo. Got to remember the last accounts we've seen were 13/14, so we'll have 2 years of revenue growth to help cover it.

I also look forward to next summer, where we can hopefully come off a title-win, and spend a huge transfer budget on 2/3 world class players. Maybe even just 1 *cough* Messi *cough*
