City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Harris said to me that he spoke to City on the phone after 1pm today and they said they do not plan to spend anything like that (£150m), gross or net.

He also said they had distanced themselves from what Khaldoon said.

None of this makes sense to me for several reasons. The main one being we are a financial juggernaut now so even if FFP isn't being relaxed for us, we should be able to spend a lot if sanctions are lifted.

Seeing as Khaldoon is the boss and Harris is a knob, I'd give serious possibility to the possibilities that (a) he's talking shite and (b) he's talking shite. Who did he ring that had the authority to nay say Khaldoon? The Sheikh?

the bit that doesn't make sense to me mate is that he just phoned city at 1pm and someone was actually there to take his phonecall, but not only that that they had the seniority to tell him with assurance that we won't spend anything like £150m
he's a charlatan

I don't think we will spend 150m net even though we can. Say we do buy Sterling Pogba and Bruyne how much would that come to? my reckoning around 150m at the most we going to be selling players so we going to recoup at least 50 of what spent...

so City have distanced themselves from the remit their own chairman has given?
